It was a bit quieter this week with some teams not playing, but the games that took place were consequential in the conference races. As usual, we'll look at each governing body (NCAA, NAIA, JUCOs, etc.) and end with a small preview of next week's games. Click here to check out previous recaps for the 2026 spring season.

NCAA

Let's go through the four NCAA conference races, starting with the Division III Atlantic East Conference.

Atlantic East

The AEC had a full week of games, which left three teams vying for the title.

  • Eastern (PA) went 3-0 on the week, including a pair of conference wins over Holy Family (PA) 47-14 and Neumann (PA) 40-6. The Eagles stay atop the standings at 12-1 overall and 10-1 in the AEC, with two more weeks of games remaining.
    • Kira Green threw for 558 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 3 picks in the three victories. Kyla Massenburg ran for 163 yards and 5 TDs across the three games, while leading the team in flag pulls each game. She finished the week with 23 flag pulls, 9 tackles-for-loss, and 5 sacks.
  • Marymount (VA) kept pace with Eastern by winning both of its games in conference play. The Saints defeated Chestnut Hill (PA) 118-0 in the doubleheader on Thursday. Marymount is 12-2 overall and 9-1 in the AEC.
    • Marymount's defense has posted 8 straight shutouts and have only surrendered 39 points all season. The defense gave up only 145 yards across both games versus Chestnut Hill.
    • The offense threw for 14 touchdown passes across the two games. In the first matchup, seven different receivers caught a TD pass. In the second game, six different receivers recorded a TD reception.
  • Immaculata (PA) went 4-0 on the week, winning twice versus Penn State Schuylkill and twice versus Centenary (NJ) (one win by forfeit). The Mighty Macs are 10-2 overall and 9-2 in the AEC.
    • Devan Cosgrove threw for 302 yards, 10 TDs, and 2 picks in the three non-forfeit wins. Theresa Jappah recorded 18 flag pulls, 3 interceptions, and 4 pass breakups in the three wins, with one of the picks going 75 yards for a score.
  • Neumann (PA) went 2-1 in the AEC this week, defeating Penn State Schuylkill 40-12 and Holy Family (PA) 39-0. The loss came against Eastern 40-6, which set them further back in the standings. The Knights are 7-4 both overall and in the conference. Although not technically out of the AEC race, the Knights will need to be perfect the rest of the way and get help to win the conference.

Conference Carolinas

The NCAA D-II Conference Carolinas currently has three teams with one conference loss, and another two sitting at 5-3. Let's start at the top, with one week left before the conference tournament.

  • Wingate (NC) went 2-0 on Saturday, crushing Mount St. Mary's (MD) 58-12 and Chowan (NC) 99-0. The Bulldogs are 7-2 overall and 7-1 in the Carolinas. Wingate has one conference game left versus Emmanuel (GA) on April 11.
    • Hailey Buis and Jhennelle Francis split the quarterback duties in both games. Buis had 412 yards, 9 touchdowns, and no picks, while Francis threw for 244 yards, 6 TDs, and 1 interception. Buis also added 33 yards and a score rushing and Francis had 71 yards and 3 scores on the ground.
  • Lees-McRae (NC) also posted two big wins on Saturday. The Bobcats defeated Mount Olive (NC) 60-0 and Barton (NC) 43-33 to move to 9-6 overall and 7-1 in the Carolinas. LMC faces Ferrum (VA) on April 8 for its final conference game.
    • Makenzie Hicks threw for 622 yards and 11 TDs, with no interceptions in the two wins. She also recorded 53 yards rushing, with two additional 2 scores using her legs. Natalia Hernandez de Leon had 16 catches for 256 yards and 4 TDs, while Kennedy Vannoy caught 12 passes for 235 yards and 5 scores.
  • Ferrum (VA) played two non-conference games this week, defeating NCAA D-I club team North Carolina Central 34-6 and Gallaudet (D.C.) 13-12. The Panthers are 13-3 overall and 6-1 in the Carolinas (the Conference Carolinas website shows Ferrum at 5-1 in the conference). Ferrum has three Conference games next week.
    • Ferrum had to defend against a late rally by Gallaudet to hold on for the win. Payson Shreeve threw for 248 yards, 1 TD, and 2 picks. Macy Taylor had both scores for Ferrum, recording 10 catches for 123 yards and a score, along with a rushing TD. The defense forced four picks, while Gracious Wise recorded 8 flag pulls, 5 tackles-for-loss, and 5 sacks.
  • Barton (NC) and Emmanuel (GA) are both 5-3 in the Conference Carolinas, according to the conference website. (Barton shows a 6-2 record on their website, while Emmanuel is showing a 4-3 record).

Empire 8

The NCAA D-III Empire 8 saw a full slate of games throughout the week. SUNY Geneseo (NY) went 4-0 on the week, with two of those victories coming against conference foes. Geneso is 7-3 overall and 3-1 in the E8.

  • Geneseo defeated SUNY Brockport (NY) 21-13 and Russell Sage (NY) 27-0 in Empire 8 action. Ella Koopman passed for 391 yards, 4 TDs, and 2 interceptions in those two games. She also had another score on the ground. Jessica Chase recorded 18 flag pulls, 4 tackles-for-loss, and 2 sacks, while Caitlyn Schutte had 17 flag pulls and 2 tackles-for-loss.
  • Brockport went 1-1 on the week, with the aforementioned loss to Geneseo, but the Eagles also posted a 31-6 win over Elmira (NY). Brockport is 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the E8. Madison Beardsley threw for 203 yards, 4 TDs, and no picks, while adding another 91 yards on the ground against Elmira. Karina Rozhevenko was relentless on defense against Elmira, recording 15 flag pulls, 6 tackles-for-loss, and 6 sacks.
  • Hartwick (NY) lost 31-28 to Russell Sage (NY) on Tuesday in an exciting matchup. The teams swapped leads four times in the final 13 minutes of the game. True to the evenness of the game, Hartwick had a chance to win on the final play. Audra Doll eluded two rushers and had a wide-open Ellie Kalbach in the end zone, but the catch was out of bounds. Doll threw for 165 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 picks, in addition to the 185 yards on the ground.
  • Elmira and Russell Sage are both 1-3 in the Empire 8, but are only two games out of first place. Both teams are slated to face all three teams above them in the standings.

United East

The D-III United East Conference had a pair of mid-week conference games. Gallaudet (D.C.) shut out Lancaster Bible (PA) 41-0 in an unofficial conference game, as LBC is a club team. Penn State Harrisburg defeated Keystone (PA) 34-6 to move to 5-1 overall and 5-1 in the UEC. Gallaudet still holds a slim lead in the conference standings at 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the UEC.

NAIA

With the Great Southwest Athletic Conference not playing this past week, we'll start with the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC). The KCAC race narrowed last week with a pair of differing results at the top. One team remains in the driver's seat for the outright title, while another can still claim a share of the title.

  • Ottawa (KS) defeated Hesston (KS) 27-7 on Wednesday and crushed William Woods (MO) 47-0 on Saturday to move to 11-1 overall and 9-0 in the KCAC. Anna Anderson threw for 447 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 2 picks in the two victories. She also ran for 2 scores against William Woods. Ottawa currently has just one game left next Saturday against Kansas Wesleyan.
  • Baker (KS) suffered a 12-0 loss at Midland (NE) on Saturday, which knocks them out of the KCAC race. It was a masterful defensive performance by Midland, as they intercepted three passes and held Tara Llorente to just 154 yards passing and rushing. Lotta Wulff threw for 180 yards and 2 TD passes for Midland. Baker still sits at 10-2 overall and 6-2 in the KCAC.
    • Midland also defeated Graceland (IA) 26-0 at home on Tuesday. The Warriors are 8-5 overall and 7-2 in the KCAC.
  • Kansas Wesleyan is the only team with a chance to catch Ottawa (KS) for the KCAC title. The Coyotes are 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the KCAC after defeating Bethel (KS) 46-0 on Wednesday (Saturday's game versus Cottey (MO) was postponed). KWU still has four games left, including a matchup at home versus Ottawa on Saturday, April 11. The Coyotes have already defeated Ottawa once this season, shocking the Braves on the road 21-20 with a last-minute drive.

The Sun Conference will come down to Keiser (FL) and Warner (FL). Both teams are undefeated in conference play, with Keiser at 8-0 and Warner at 7-0. Warner will host Keiser in the regular season finale on Saturday, April 11.

  • Keiser faced some resistance against Webber International (FL) on Thursday, but won 20-12. Ava Wallace threw for 229 yards, 2 scores, and 1 pick, while Ashlea Klam recorded two interceptions. Dakota Moberg caught 8 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown, while leading the defense with 10 flag pulls.
    • Keiser won on Saturday 40-2 over St. Thomas (FL). Wallace threw for 327 yards and 4 scores, Moberg had 7 catches for 114 yards, 2 TDs, and 10 flag pulls, and Sarah Villareal had two picks on defense.
  • Warner also played two games, defeating St. Thomas 47-7 on Thursday and Florida Memorial 73-0 on Saturday. The defense was dominant in the win against STU, recording three first-half interceptions to stymie any momentum by the Bobcats.
    • Kathryn Hutchinson threw for 614 yards, 15 TDs, and 1 interception across the two games. Four different receivers caught at least 2 TD passes against Florida Memorial.
    • Ana Vincensini (9 flag pulls and 1 defensive TD) and O'Mariah Gordon both recorded 2 picks against STU. Against FMU, Vincensini had one pick, which she returned for a touchdown, and Gordon recorded 5 interceptions.
  • St. Thomas (FL) was soundly defeated by the top two teams, losing by a combined margin of 87-9. The Bobcats are 7-3 overall and 4-2 in the Sun Conference, which leaves them fighting for an at-large selection for the NAIA Invitational tournament, assuming STU doesn't win the Sun Conference tournament.
  • Webber International (FL) lost to Keiser to drop to 10-4 overall and 4-3 in the Sun Conference. They'll face Warner (FL) on Tuesday and St. Thomas (FL) on Saturday. The game against STU is the last chance for either team to nab a big win before the Sun Conference tournament.

Other quick hits from around the NAIA:

  • Lindsey Wilson (KY) and Campbellsville (KY) played a thriller on Friday. The teams went back-and-forth, but it was LWU's touchdown in the final half-minute that gave them the 33-28 win. Amaya Pablo threw for 219 yards, 4 TDs, and 2 picks, while adding another 92 yards rushing. Campbellsville's Korine Talkington had a nearly similar statline: 216 yards passing, 4 TDs, and 3 picks, with 81 yards rushing.
    • Emily Good had 2 picks for Lindsey Wilson and Alex Odom had 2 picks for Campbellsville. LWU is 10-2 overall this year.
    • Campbellsville defeated Cumberland (TN) 38-20 on Wednesday. Talkington had 309 yards and 6 TD passes against no picks. The Tigers sit at 9-9 overall heading into the final two games.

JUCOs and Other Governing Bodies

Florida Gateway defeated Daytona State (FL) 25-7 to remain perfect against the Falcons this year. The two teams will battle once more on Friday, April 24, in the NJCAA's FCSAA Championship. While Daytona State lost to FGC, the Falcons did defeat DuPage (IL) 46-14 on Monday.

The CCCAA/3C2A's Orange Empire Conference has reached perfect parity to this point in the season. All four teams - Cypress (CA), Golden West (CA), Irvine Valley (CA), and Saddleback (CA) - are 2-2 in conference games after the last week of matchups. Saddleback defeated Golden West 20-7, while Irvine Valley shutout Cypress 26-0. There are still two rounds of conference games left before the OEC tournament at the end of April/start of May.

Santa Barbara City College (CA) posted two impressive wins on Saturday, April 4. The Vaqueros defeated NCAA D-I club teams UCLA 21-12 and USC 25-18 in double overtime.

Villa Maria (NY) started the season with a 34-13 loss to Roberts Wesleyan (NY), but has ripped off 9 straight wins since then. Last week saw the Vikings win 28-18 against Hartwick (NY) and 46-0 against Daemen (NY). Villa Maria is gearing up for another regional NCFFL tournament in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, next week.

The Week Ahead

It will be another huge week for conference races next week. On Tuesday, Warner (FL) will play at Webber International (FL) in its bid to stay undefeated in the NAIA's Sun Conference. Wednesday will showcase some big games from the NAIA's Kansas Collegiate and Great Southwest conferences, with tournament seeding at stake.

Thursday will see the conclusion of the GSAC regular season conference games and the conference tournament seeding determined. The CCCAA/3C2A Orange Empire Conference will have games two conference games: Golden West-Irvine Valley and Saddleback-Cypress. Friday and Saturday will feature the NCFFL's Pennsylvania Regional in Lancaster.

Satruday will feature some potentially conference altering games. The NAIA's KCAC regular season champion could be determined when Ottawa (KS) and Kansas Wesleyan meet. The NAIA's Sun Conference will be determined when the top two teams will face off: Keiser (FL) at Warner (FL). The top two teams in the NCAA D-III United East Conference will also play: Penn State Harrisburg and Gallaudet (D.C.) will meet in Allentown.

Of course, those are the biggest matchups. There will be dozens of additional games, including one confernece tournament. The NCAA D-II CIAA will play its second conference tournament in Durham, North Carolina. Winston-Salem State (NC) enters as the top seed in the 7-team bracket.
