Collegiate Flag Football (CFF, "we", "us") is dedicated to the privacy of its users and this policy outlines how information is collected on users. Any links to third-party sites or services have their own privacy policies. Be sure to read the privacy policies posted at the third-party websites or services to understand how they collect information on users, as those policies may differ from CFF. The privacy policy on this page only applies to CFF.

What Personal Information is Collected When Visiting CollegiateFlagFootball.com?

The following information is collected from users when they sign up for the newsletter:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Location (State/Region and Country)
  • The date the account was created
  • The source (Google, Instagram, etc.) of how the user found the page
  • The page on which the user signed up for the newsletter (if applicable)

CFF uses Plausible.io, an EU-based company, for its analytics tracking, which is GDPR, CCPA, and PECR compliant. Through Plausible, CFF collects the following device data information when a user uses the website:

  • How a user found the website (Google, Instagram, etc.)
  • Device Type
  • Browser
  • Operating System
  • Device Screen Size
  • Country, Region/State, and City
  • Whether the user had an outbound click to a third-party website

When Does CFF Collect Information?

CFF collects information whenever a user connects to the website or signs up to receive the newsletter.

How Will CFF Use the Collected Information?

CFF may collect personal information from users in the following cases:

  • Accessing the website
  • Subscribing to receive a newsletter via email
  • Contact CFF via email or social media, including mentions or direct messages on social media platforms

CFF may collect, hold, use, and disclose information for the following purposes, and personal information will not be further processed in a manner that is incompatible with these purposes:

  • To provide users with CFF's services and a better user experience
  • To communicate with users, allowing them to access the website and third-party social media platforms associated with CFF accounts
  • For recordkeeping purposes

CFF may combine voluntarily and automatically collected personal information with general information or research data we receive from other trusted third-party sources. For example, the use of the third-party analytics platform may allow CFF to improve the website to benefit the user's experience.

How Does CFF Protect the Information Collected?

CFF will protect users' personal information to the acceptable extent possible, including loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, or modification. This includes the collection, processing, and retaining of information. No method is guaranteed to provide 100% data security, but CFF is committed to adhering to the guidelines outlined throughout the Privacy Policy. CFF does not have a password policy for accessing its newsletter. Only a valid email address is required; however, email addresses fall under personal information.

CFF will keep personal information on an as-needed basis as outlined in the privacy policy. For newsletters, the information will be maintained as long as the account remains in good standing, unless the user requests the account be deleted via email.

Does CFF Use Cookies?

CFF uses the Ghost publishing platform, which by default does not have cookies as it is an EU company. However, CFF uses cookies to remember information for a user in a limited scope. For example, the banner at the top of the website displaying "Welcome to Collegiate Flag Football!" uses a cookie to remember a user's preference for that session. No other cookies are used beyond the banner announcement.

CFF uses Plausible.io, an EU-based analytics provider, which is not allowed to use cookies under GDPR. Plausible uses a different way to track visitors without cookies, with the data being deleted every 24 hours to prevent linking any information to the visitors. CFF is not able to see the information collected by Plausible.

Third-Party Disclosures and Links

CFF does not sell, trade, or transfer any personal information to outside parties. CFF will often have third-party links for various news articles and informational purposes. As such, a link to a third-party is not an endorsement of a product or service. These links are provided for informational purposes only and users should review the privacy policy for the third-party websites.

CFF does not use any advertising platforms such as Google AdSense.

Children's Privacy

We do not aim any of our products or services directly at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children under 13.

California Privacy Laws

This California Privacy Policy supplements the information contained in the general privacy policy and applies solely to visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California. We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

We may collect information on California residents, including identifiers (name, email address, etc.), internet activity (browsing history, pages visited, referring URL, etc.), geolocation data (general location), inferences (preferences inferred from visiting CFF), and sensitive personal information (email login). This information is collected when a user visits the website or signs up for the newsletter.

CFF may use this information to provide and improve services on the website, send newsletters with the user's consent, detect and prevent security issues, analyze usage trends and performance, and to comply with legal obligations. CFF does not sell a user's personal information and does not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Under CCPA/CPRA, users have the following rights:

i. Right to Know - Users have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or share.
ii. Right to Delete - Users have the right to request deletion of their personal information, with certain exceptions (e.g., for legal compliance or security).
iii. Right to Correct - Users have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information about them.
iv. Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing - CFF does not sell or share your personal data in a way that requires an opt-out under California law.
v. Right to Non-Discrimination - CFF will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights under California law.
