This week saw several top-10 matchups, along with many teams playing their second set of games. As usual, we'll look at each governing body (NCAA, NAIA, JUCOs, etc.) and end with a small preview of next week's games. Click here to check out previous recaps for the 2026 spring season.

NCAA

The ECAC saw midweek action on Wednesday, with Allegheny (PA), Marymount (VA), and Mercyhurst (PA) playing. Marymount went 3-1, followed by Mercyhurst at 2-1, and Allegheny at 0-3. One of the Allegheny-Mercyhurst matchups was canceled, which gave Marymount an extra game.

  • The two Marymount-Mercyhurst games were more on the defensive side. The first game was won by Marymount 20-14, largely on the legs of Jesenia Velez. She ran for 114 yards and 2 touchdowns, while adding another 69 yards and 1 TD through the air. Mercyhurst's Ellie Schau had just 99 yards passing, but added 69 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
    • The second game was much more of an offensive slog, as Mercyhurst won 7-0. Marymount had 122 yards on offense, while Mercyhurst put up 148. Schau's 24-yard TD pass to Cameryn Mullaly was the difference in the game.
  • Ferrum (VA) went 3-1 this week, losing to Milligan (TN) 48-7 on Wednesday, followed by three victories against Radford (VA), Mount Olive (NC), and Barton (NC). Ferrum is 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the Conference Carolinas.
    • Despite the 48-7 loss, Payson Shreeve went 41 of 60 for 341 yards. Unfortunately, she did not throw a TD and had 4 picks. The Milligan defense stymied her rushing ability, holding her to -22 yards rushing and recording 5 sacks. Shreeve came back in the next two games against Radford (99-0 win) and Mount Olive (73-6 win) with 148 yards and 3 TDs on the ground.
    • The game versus Barton went down to the wire, with Ferrum winning 37-33 thanks to a late rally. Shreeve threw for 439 yards, 5 TDs, and 1 INT in the victory. Macy Taylor recorded 14 catches for 163 yards and a score.
      • Despite the loss, Barton's Sawyer Rigdon threw for 317 yards, 4 TDs, and a pick. The receiving corps was a three-woman operation: Valerie-Ange Batta (9 catches for 117 yards and 1 TD), Saron Merid (6 receptions for 102 yards and 1 TD), and Deija Reed (8 grabs for 98 yards and 1 TD).
  • Huntingdon (AL) won its two games on Sunday, defeating D-I Alabama State 18-14 and the NAIA's Hendrix (AR) 32-6. The matchup against ASU featured several big plays, starting with Huntingdon's punt return lateral from Tamiya Carter to Kylah Rome, which went for a TD. Kennedi Young eluded defenders on a scramble late in the half to extend the lead to 12-0.
    • Leading 12-7, Young found De'Aysia Williams on a short pass, but a mix-up in the ASU secondary allowed the pass to go for 66 yards and a score.
    • ASU got in on the action when Aubree Davis found Kiona Westerlund open on a crossing route, with Westerlund getting to the sideline and outsprinting the defense for a score. Alabama State finished 1-1 on the day after defeating Hendrix 39-6 in the second game.
  • Post (CT) won its first two games in program history by defeating non-NCAA opponents Bryant & Stratton Albany and Roxbury CC (MA).
    • The Eagles leaned on the rushing attack in both victories. Against Bryant & Stratton, Post racked up 171 yards and 3 touchdowns via the ground, while rushing for 179 yards and 1 score against Roxbury. Post had just 191 yards passing combined across the two games.
    • Rihanna Boland had 3 interceptions versus B&SC and 2 picks, plus a receiving TD against Roxbury.
    • Aniyah Booker did a little of everything in the two wins. Against B&SC, she had 56 yards rushing on 6 carries, while also having a 65-yard pick-six. Against Roxbury, she led the team in passing (86 yards and 2 TDs, no picks) and rushing (57 yards and 1 TD on 6 carries). She also had an interception.

NAIA

The NAIA had plenty to talk about this week, as usual, starting with the KCAC games below.

  • Baker (KS) dropped its first game of the season to Ottawa (KS) at home. It was a windy Wednesday night and the defenses came to play. The Wildcats held Ottawa scoreless until the halfway point of the third quarter. They also kept Anna Anderson's running game in check, allowing only 25 yards on 11 carries. Unfortunately, the offense couldn't get a drive together until the waning seconds.
    • Baker rebounded over the weekend to crush Southwestern (KS) 53-20. Tara Llorente had 126 yards and 2 TD passes, but was more electric on the ground. She had 9 carries for 150 yards and 2 scores. The Wildcats are 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the KCAC.
  • Midland (NE) won both of its games over Bethel (KS) 67-0 and William Woods (MO) 32-12. Lotta Wulff had 407 yards, with 10 TD passes and 1 interception in the victories. Allaya Livingston had 4 TD grabs against William Woods. Midland is 4-2 overall and 4-1 in the KCAC.
  • As mentioned above, the midweek game at Baker was quite defensive for Ottawa. The Braves broke through midway through the third quarter when Anna Anderson found Alyssa Linkous for a 15-yard strike. Anderson doubled the lead to 12-0 when she ran in for a 2-yard score.
    • Against Graceland (IA), Ottawa leaned on the Anderson to Linkous connection. Andeson had 224 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air, while Linkous finished with 6 catches for 89 yards and 2 scores. The defense continues to play better after an inauspicious start to the season.

In the Sun Conference, it was a mix of conference matchups and some non-conference games.

  • Keiser (FL) played only one game, but it was a big 41-6 win over Thomas (GA). Ava Wallace threw for 272 yards and 5 TDs, Ashlea Klam had 8 catches for 91 yards and 3 TDs (plus an INT), and Sophia Caprio had 8 receptions for 87 yards and 2 scores.
    • The Keiser defense held Thomas to only 114 yards of offense. Keiser is 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the Sun Conference. Thomas is currently 5-4 overall and 0-2 in the Sun Conference.
  • Warner (FL) continues to dominate their opponents. The Royals went 4-0 this week, with wins against Siena Heights (MI) 66-0, Saint Francis (IN) 48-6, Wittenberg (OH) 90-0, and Point (GA) 59-0.
    • Kathryn Hutchinson threw for 1,473 yards, 36 touchdowns, and 1 interception in the four victories. Avalon Lux-Offerman recorded 3 touchdown catches in each of the four wins. Ana Vincensini had at least 1 interception in three of the four games. Warner is currently 10-0 on the season and is outscoring opponents 704-6.
  • Webber International (FL) started the week with a 21-12 loss against Saint Francis (IN), but finished the week strong, going 3-0. Luzariana Herrera had 826 yards passing, 12 touchdowns, and 4 picks across the four games.
    • Webber defeated Florida Memorial 45-0 on Thursday and Point (GA) 20-6 on Saturday in Sun Conference games. The Warriors are 8-1 overall and 3-0 in the Sun.
  • Life (GA) and St. Thomas (FL) did not play last week, but will both be back in action next week. Life is 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the Sun, while St. Thomas is sitting at 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the Sun.

Outside the KCAC and Sun, there was additional NAIA action. Here are some quick hits:

  • Arizona Christian went 1-1 this week. The Firestorm defeated Ottawa (AZ) 47-6 on Wednesday, and then gave Nevada State its sternest test of the season in a 28-26 loss. ACU is 2-3 overall, but playing its best football right now, as it looks towards GSAC games over the next month.
  • Milligan (TN) won its four games this week, although one was an exhibition against Radford (VA). The Buffaloes are 10-0 on the season after defeating Ferrum (VA) 48-7, Cumberland (TN) 55-0, and Reinhardt (GA) 33-14.
    • Bridget Keyser continues to assemble an excellent season. She threw for 923 yards and 18 TDs (no picks) in the three non-exhibition victories. Caitlin Quinn, Krista Quinn, and Lilly Rumrill had the lion's share of receptions. That trio accounted for 32 catches for 492 yards and 8 TDs.
  • Saint Francis (IN) finished its Florida bonanza with two games against top-10 Sun Conference teams. The first game was a 21-12 over #7 Webber International (FL), with Jianna Reyes accounting for all three touchdowns. Reyes threw for 249 yards and 1 TD, while rushing for two scores. The defense forced three turnovers in the victory.
    • The second game the Cougars played was a 48-6 loss to top-ranked Warner (FL). While it was a blowout, it's worth noting that the TD pass from Reyes to Harmany Walker in the second quarter accounted for the only points Warner has allowed this season (as of March 15, 2026).

JUCOs and Other Governing Bodies

The biggest game of the week on the JUCO level was Florida Gateway at Daytona State (FL) on Wednesday, March 11. FGC won 51-7 to claim its fourth straight victory in the series. FGC also won its games on the weekend against Emmanuel (GA) 59-0 and Mars Hill (NC). The Timberwolves sit at 9-1 this season.

  • Daytona State started the week with an 87-0 win over Penn State Schuylkill (PA) and bounced back from its mid-week loss against Florida Gateway to defeat Brewton-Parker (GA) 27-0 over the weekend. Leah Murphy went 24 of 36 for 175 yards and 3 TDs, while Littiana Dasilva and Katie Rodney both made 2 TD catches. Daytona State is 8-1 entering the second half of March.
  • Saddleback (CA) is 14-0 at the midway point of March, following a 21-0 win at El Camino (CA) and eeked out a 7-6 win against Golden West (CA). The Saddleback-Golden West matchup was the first-ever Orange Empire Conference game. The Bobcats needed a second-half touchdown to overcome Golden West, with Kirra Clavijo throwing a perfect pass to Talita Robinson, who took it the rest of the way. Clavijo would run in the extra point for the eventual 7-6 win.
  • Nevada State maintained its perfect record with a 59-0 win against La Sierra (CA) and a 28-26 win against Arizona Christian. The latter was a back-and-forth affair, which required NSU to make a late comeback. Kaylie Phillips called her own number and scrambled to her right for the 3-yard TD run for the eventual game-winning score. The defense then stood tall, forcing ACU to turn the ball over on downs, followed by another Phillips scramble to ice the game. NSU is 10-0 on the season.

The Week Ahead

The first half of the week features conference games in the NAIA's KCAC and Sun Conference, along with the NCAA's ECAC. Illinois Wesleyan from the NCAA D-III will face the NAIA's Cumberland (TN) and Milligan (TN) in a tri-match on Tuesday. The NCAA D-II Conference Carolinas and D-III United East Conference will see some teams in action on Wednesday.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the NAIA's Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC) will have conference games in Riverside, California. All six teams are scheduled to play 3 games apiece. Hope International (CA) and Arizona Christian are tied atop the GSAC standings at 2-0 in conference games. The 3C2A will also have plenty of games on Thursday, with Irvine Valley (CA) and Saddleback (CA) scheduled to play.

Then there is the weekend when a majority of schools will play across all governing bodies. The Atlantic East and ECAC will have a full slate of games, Gallaudet (DC) returns with a doubleheader against UEC opponents, Lindsey Wilson (KY) plays four NCAA D-III schools in Illinois, and Siena Heights (MI) has a tripleheader on Saturday against KCAC teams.
