Welcome to the March 9 edition of the women's college flag football newsletter here at Collegiate Flag Football. We will look at the various stories and happenings across the sport over the last week, between Monday, March 2, and Sunday, March 8, 2026. 4 Additions This Week, 2 Changes

Bradley University (IL) will add a women's flag football club beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. Bradley is the second school from the NCAA Division I Missouri Valley Conference to add a club team.

Gettysburg College (PA) will add a varsity women's flag football team beginning with the 2027-28 academic year. Gettysburg is the first school from the NCAA Division III Centennial Conference to add flag football.

Menlo College (CA) will add varsity women's flag football beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. Menlo is the first team from the NCAA Division II Pacific West Conference to add flag football.

Olivet Nazarene University (IL) will add a varsity women's flag football program beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. ONU is the third school from the NAIA's Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference to add a varsity team.

Santiago Canyon College (CA) will delay its first season from 2026 to 2027. Santiago Canyon will compete in the 3C2A's Orange Empire Conference.

One small change to note is that Purdue University Northwest (IN) will change its nickname to the Lions starting on July 1, 2026. The school is currently known as the "Pride."

2026 Season News

March began with a slew of games across the country, and there was no shortage of big performances. A recap of some of last week's action and a look ahead to this week's flag football schedule can be found here.

2026 Week 2 WCFF Top 25

The second Top 25 release of the WomensCollegeFlagFootball.com poll is out for the 2026 season. This week's poll saw plenty of changes, with Florida Gateway tumbling out of the top spot to 13th. Warner (FL) now sits atop the poll, with fellow Sun Conference member Webber International (FL) in second. Milligan (TN) jumps to third, followed by Daytona State (FL) cracking the top four, and Kansas Wesleyan in fifth. The full top 25 is below; the methodologies are available here.

2026 Preseason Polls

The NCAA Division III Atlantic East Conference unveiled its preseason coaches poll for the 20226 season. The coaches are predicting a close battle at the top with Marymount (VA) holding a 5-vote margin ahead of Eastern University (PA). Immaculata (PA) is third, while the next four teams were separated by 8 votes: Holy Family (PA), Centenary (NJ), Penn State Schuylkill (PA), and Neumann (PA). Marywood (PA) was picked eighth and Chestnut Hill (PA) was picked to finish ninth. The full poll is below.

United East Conference

The NCAA Division III United East Conference dropped its preseason poll for the 2026 season. Gallaudet took the top spot with 4 of the 5 first-place votes, while 3rd-place Cairn took the remaining vote. In between those two is Keystone in second. Penn State Harrisburg was voted fourth, followed by Cedar Crest. The UEC noted that Lancaster Bible College (PA) will compete on the schedule, but was not included in the poll due to its club team status. The school plans to become a varsity team in the future. The UEC season will wrap up with the top-seeded team at the end of the regular season hosting the conference championship on Saturday, April 25.

2026 Spring Scheduling News

Cal Poly (CA) will host its first spring tournament on Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, 2026. The tournament is open to any school that wishes to participate, and it will be held on campus in San Luis Obispo, California. Any collegiate flag football program interested in competing at Cal Poly's tournament should contact Ryan Weisenberg (rweisenb@calpoly[dot]edu).

NEW THIS WEEK: The NCFFL dropped the Maryland Spring Regional slated to take place in Columbia, Maryland, on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29. Check out the full schedule below.

Coaching News

Barry University (FL) posted a job description for the women's flag football team. Barry currently offers a club team, but will elevate the program to varsity status in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Cal Poly (CA) named Rod Sherman as the program's first head coach. Kristen Sherman, his wife, will serve as an assistant coach, as noted last week. Cal Poly will compete as a club program until it becomes a varsity program starting in the 2027-28 academic year.

Charleston Southern University (SC) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. CSU will begin competing in the 2027-28 academic year.

The College of Staten Island (NY) posted a job description for the women's flag football coaching vacancy. The team was previously led by Frank Jennaco, who went 7-0-1 in the spring 2025 season en route to winning the inaugural NCFFL Championship.

NEW THIS WEEK: Davenport University (MI) named Ryan Adamovich as the program's first head coach. Adamovich was the head coach at Lourdes University (OH) starting in 2025, but the school will close at the end of the 2025-26 academic year. He also helped start the flag football program at Bryant & Stratton College near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Davenport will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Elizabethtown College (PA) posted the application form for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Elizabethtown will begin competing during the 2027-28 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Elmira College (NY) named Steve Terry as the team's defensive coordinator for the 2026 spring season.

Graceland University (IA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Previous head coach Aaron Richardson is leaving to take the same position at Lewis University (IL).

The Guimond Vukovic Group (GVG) is offering postgraduate opportunities for athletes seeking a one-year master's degree in the United Kingdom. Scholarship opportunities are available for students with a GPA of 2.8 or higher. Athletes who wish to continue playing collegiate flag football, develop programs, build the sport internationally, or pursue coaching opportunities are encouraged to apply. GVG offers a free service to connect student-athletes with partner institutions in the U.K. The FAQ section on GVG's website provides additional information. This postgraduate opportunity is in the United Kingdom.

Hardin-Simmons University (TX) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role. HSU will begin playing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Harrisburg Area Community College (PA) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. HACC competes in the NJCAA.

Howard Payne University (TX) posted the job description for the women's flag football coaching vacancy. HPU will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Knox College (IL) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Knox will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Menlo College (CA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Menlo will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Midway University (KY) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Midway will now begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Missouri Baptist University named Evanee Cooper as the program's inaugural head coach. Cooper played flag football collegiately at Redinhardt University (GA) as a wide receiver and defensive back for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. MBU will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Mount Mary University (WI) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Mount Mary will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Neumann University (PA) named Keith Smith and Kenn Byrd as assistant coaches for the 2026 spring season.

NEW THIS WEEK: Newberry College (SC) named Deshun Kitchings the flag football program's first head coach. Newberry also named Kendall Powell as the Director of Women's Flag Football Operations. Kitchings was a star football player at Newberry and spent some time on NFL rosters during the offseason. Newberry will compete in the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas in spring 2027.

Our Lady of the Lake University (TX) posted a job description for a flag football head coaching position. OLLU will begin playing in the 2026-27 academic year.

PennWest University, California (PA) posted a job description for the flag football head coaching position. PennWest previously named Noah Mitchell as the program's first head coachin May 2025.

NEW THIS WEEK: Roberts Wesleyan University (NY) named Jon Bovee as an assistant coach for the 2026 spring season.

Saint Xavier University (IL) posted a job description for a flag football head coaching vacancy. SXU will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

SCAD Savannah (GA) posted the job description for an assistant coach on the women's flag football staff. SCAD will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year and named Cristian Orth as head coach in November 2025.

Trenholm State Community College (AL) posted the job description for a women's flag football coaching vacancy. TSCC has not officially announced the start of a flag football program.

NEW THIS WEEK: United States Sports University (AL) posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching vacancy. USSU hasn't officially announced a flag football program.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching vacancy. UMass Dartmouth hasn't officially announced a flag football program.

The University of Michigan is accepting applications for its women's flag football club team. The application deadline is Monday, March 16.

The University of South Carolina Upstate posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching opportunity. USC Upstate will launch a varsity team in the 2026-27 academic year.

Future Camps and Clinics

Blackburn College (IL) will host a high school flag football clinic on Saturday, March 21, from 2 to 5 PM. The clinic will be held at the Blackburn Athletic Center in Carlinville, Illinois. The registration link is here.

Howard Community College (MD) will host a spring flag football league in the Spring of 2026. Games will be played each Sunday, starting March 22, 2026, and the league will conclude on June 14, 2026.

Niagara Youth Flag Football (Canada) will host an All-Girls University Camp on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 9 AM to 12 PM. The camp will take place at Youngs Sportsplex in Welland, Ontario, Canada. Canadian Universities Brock, Sheridan, and Western will be joined by Villa Maria College from the Buffalo, New York area.

The San Francisco 49ers will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Morgan Hill, California. The registration deadline is Monday, February 16, 2026.

The Chicago Bears will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Bridgeview, Illinois. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, March 20, 2026.

Howard Community College (MD) will host a flag football scouting combine the weekend of Saturday, March 28, 2026, and Sunday, March 29, 2026. The camp will take place in Columbia, Maryland, and is open to high school girls in grades 9 through 12. The camp coincides with the NCFFL's Maryland Championship Series.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Clay County Parks in Middleburg, Florida. The registration deadline is Monday, March 9, 2026.

The University of Georgia will host a flag football camp on Saturday, March 28, from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. The camp is open to 9th through 12th graders and will take place at Maynard H. Jackson High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Those interested can register here.

Albright College (PA) is hosting a flag football skills camp on Saturday, April 4, at 4 PM on campus in Reading, Pennsylvania. The camp is open to students in 9th through 12th grade.

Meredith College (NC) will host a flag football prospect camp on Saturday, April 4, for 9th through 12th graders. The camp will run from 10 AM to 12 PM and be held on campus at the flag football field in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Lancaster Bible College (PA) will host a flag football scouting combine on Friday, April 10, 2026, and Saturday, April 11, 2026. The camp will take place in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and is open to high school girls in grades 9 through 12. The camp coincides with the NCFFL's Pennsylvania Championship Series.

The Baltimore Ravens will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Western Regional Park in Cooksville, Maryland. The registration deadline is Monday, March 9, 2026.

Jackson State Community College (TN) is hosting a flag football prospect showcase from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday, April 4. The showcase is open to athletes graduating from 2026 through 2029, as well as transfers. The showcase will take place on campus in Jackson, Tennessee.

The Kansas City Chiefs will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Paragon Star in Kansas City, Missouri. The registration deadline is Monday, March 9, 2026.

The University of Montana is hosting a flag football prospect camp on Saturday, April 11, in Missoula, Montana. The camp is open to high school girls ages 16 to 19.

Wildchild Athletics (MI) will host a girls flag football scholarship showcase on Saturday, April 11, in Livonia, Michigan. The showcase is open to middle school and high school athletes and will take place at the Trinity Sports Dome from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Those interested can register here.

The Carolina Panthers will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The registration deadline is Monday, March 16, 2026.

The Detroit Lions will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Tom Adams Field at Wayne State in Detroit, Michigan. The registration deadline is Monday, March 16, 2026.

NEW THIS WEEK: Cal Lutheran University (CA) will host a girls flag football prospect camp on Saturday, April 25. The camp will include a campus tour at 9 AM, followed by the camp from 10 AM to 12 PM. The camp is open to athletes ages 11 to 17 and will take place on the campus's North Field in Thousand Oaks, California.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will host an NFL FLAG Spring Super Regional on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Montour Sports Center in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. The registration deadline is Monday, March 23, 2026.

The Atlanta Falcons will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Franklin Gateway in Marietta, Georgia. The registration deadline is Monday, March 30, 2026.

The Los Angeles Rams will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California. The registration deadline is Monday, March 30, 2026.

The NCFFL will host a national flag football scouting combine on the weekend of Saturday, May 2, 2026, and Sunday, May 3, 2026. The camp will take place in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, and is open to high school girls in grades 9 through 12. The camp coincides with the NCFFL's Nationals tournament the same weekend.

The Denver Broncos will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Aurora Sports Park in Aurora, Colorado. The registration deadline is Monday, April 6, 2026.

The Los Angeles Rams will host an adult Talent ID Camp on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Long Beach, California. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, May 1, 2026.

The Minnesota Vikings will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at The Ponds Athletic Complex in Prior Lake, Minnesota. The registration deadline is Monday, April 6, 2026.

The Philadelphia Eagles will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at United Sports in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The registration deadline is Monday, April 6, 2026.

The Green Bay Packers will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Don Hutson Center & Ray Nitschke Field in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin. The registration deadline is Monday, April 27, 2026.

The New York Giants will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at West Orange High School in West Orange, New Jersey. The registration deadline is Monday, April 27, 2026.

She Plays (AZ) is hosting a girls flag football college showcase and combine on Sunday, May 31, 2026. The showcase will be held from 9 AM to 12 PM in Chandler, Arizona. Arizona Christian University, Benedictine University at Mesa (AZ), Chowan University (NC), Grossmont College (CA), Lourdes University (OH), Mars Hill University (NC), Meredith College (NC), North Park University (IL), SCAD Savannah (GA), University of Arizona, University of Northwestern Ohio, and University of Redlands (CA) are expected to be in attendance.

Calhoun Community College (AL) is hosting a pair of flag football camps at the start of June. On Monday, June 1, a camp will be held from 9 AM to 12 PM for 3rd through 8th graders. On Tuesday, June 2, a camp will be held from 9 AM to 3 PM for 9th through 12th graders.

Nike is hosting a girls flag football camp in Atlanta, Georgia, from Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5. The camp is open to ages 8 through 18 and will be held at the Lovett School in Atlanta.

Nike is hosting a coed flag football camp in Rockford, Illinois, from Wednesday, June 3, through Friday, June 5. The camp is open to ages 7 through 14, and will be held at Clarence Hicks Memorial Sports Park in Rockford. Illinois College head coach Mark Grounds will be one of the camp coaches.

The Cleveland Browns will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Euclid High School in Euclid, Ohio. The registration deadline is Monday, May 4, 2026.

The Seattle Seahawks will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Kasch Park in Everett, Washington. The registration deadline is Monday, May 4, 2026.

Millersville University (PA) will host its 2nd annual girls flag football camp from Wednesday, June 24, through Sunday, June 28, 2026. The camp will feature two-a-day practices, film review, evaluations, guest speakers, and strength and conditioning.

The University of South Florida will host a girls flag football camp in collaboration with Nike, from Wednesday, June 26, through Friday, June 26. The camp is open for ages 11 through 14 and will be held daily from 9 AM to 1 PM. The camp will be held at Fowler Field in Tampa, Florida.

Missouri Valley College (MO) will host a girls flag football camp in collaboration with Nike, from Friday, June 26, through Sunday, June 28. The camp will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 PM on Friday, followed by 9 AM to 2 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The camp will be held in Marshall, Missouri.

NEW THIS WEEK: Run For The Legacy (MD) will host a girls flag football tournament from Wednesday, July 15, through Saturday, July 18, in Baltimore, Maryland. The event will be attended by college coaches from around the US, while also providing a coaches clinic. The registration deadline is Sunday, May 31.

NEW THIS WEEK: Mercyhurst University (PA) will host a women's flag football prospect camp on Friday, July 25, from 1 to 4 PM. The camp is open to incoming high school freshmen through seniors, and will be held on campus at Saxon Stadium in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The International Flag League (formerly USA Flag) will host its 2027 National Championships in Tampa, Florida, on MLK weekend in January 2027. The dates are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, January 13, 2027, through Sunday, January 17, 2027.

The International Flag League (formerly USA Flag) will host its 2027 World Championships in Los Angeles, California, from Thursday, July 8, 2027, through Sunday, July 11, 2027. A collegiate division will be competing for the first time at the 2027 championships.

Growth Leads to Success for Clemson's Club Team

The women's flag football club team at Clemson University (SC) was the winner of the school's 2026 Best Club Sport award. The club launched in the fall of 2024, but has seen tremendous growth among the students on campus. The interest even extends to prospective students during campus tours.

Long Island, USC Teams Profiled

The Long Island University (NY) flag football team made the headlines of the New York Post, thanks in part to head coach Jimmy Barbarise. Barbarise is the creator and lead actor on the show Capo: Rise to Power. The Post's article looks at his journey away from the silver screen and how this year's LIU team is shaping up.

On the other coast, USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism takes a closer look at the flag football team's rapid ascent. The USC flag football club team was announced in fall 2025, led in large part by founder and club president Alia Pasternak. Pasternak played flag football in high school in California and wanted to continue that experience at USC. As a result, the school is one of eight NCAA Division I club and varsity programs set to compete at the inaugural Fiesta Bowl Flag Football Classic in April.

Interview with Amber Clark-Robinson

Melissa Forziat of Take the Doughnut recently interviewed Amber Clark-Robinson, who is a member of the US Women's National Flag Football team and head coach of the Saginaw Valley State University (MI) flag football team. Clark-Robinson talks about how she ended up as a flag football player, advises younger players, and discusses some of the sacrifices made by her and her family to get to this point. The full interview can be found on YouTube, and is set to be part of a larger series on the channel aimed to share stories from Olympians.

Players of the Week

The NCAA Division III Atlantic East Conference announced its Players of the Week. Kira Green of Eastern University (PA) captured offensive honors following her 496 yards and 12 touchdown passes in the two wins on Saturday. On defense, Immaculata's (PA) Frankie Brunkel finished with 14 flag pulls and an interception in Immaculata's two victories.

The NCAA Division III Conference Carolinas named Barton (NC) quarterback Sawyer Rigdon the Offensive Player of the Week, following her 378 yards and 8 touchdown passes last week. On defense, teammate Zahnia Long won the Defensive award after recording 7 tackles and 3 interceptions.

The ECAC named an Eastern University (PA) duo as its Players of the Week. Kira Green won the Offensive award following her efforts, while Briel Hyppolite won the Defensive award. Hyppolite recorded 12 tackles, 7 tackles-for-loss, and 6 sacks against Centenary (NJ).

In the NJCAA, Florida Gateway won the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week honors for the FCSAA. Layla West won the OPOTW after recording 26 catches for 484 yards and 8 touchdowns. On defense, Nichelle Brown won the honors, following her 41 flag pulls, 5 sacks, 7 pass breakups, and 1 interception last week.

From the NAIA's Great Southwest Athletic Conference, Arizona Christian's CC Maccagnano won her second straight Offensive Player of the Week honors. She threw for 234 yards and 4 touchdowns in the 37-6 victory over Benedictine Mesa (AZ). Ja'Niya Haley from Hope International (CA) won the defensive award for her two-interception performance against La Sierra (CA).

The NAIA's KCAC saw the Ottawa Braves (KS) sweep the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards. On offense, it was Anna Anderson's 586 yards and 10 touchdown passes for the two victories that won her OPTW. Anderson also nabbed NAIA Offensive Player of the Week Honors. On defense, Dejonice Parris won the award for recording 19 solo flag pulls (21 total), 5.5 tackles-for-loss, 3.5 sacks, and an interception.

Penn State Harrisburg's Nadia King won both the offensive and defensive Player of the Week honors for the NCAA Division III United East Conference. King threw six touchdown passes and ran for two scores, while recording three interceptions and one pick-six on defense.

The NAIA's Sun Conference named Ava Wallace from Keiser (FL) as the Offensive Player of the Week. Wallace threw for 521 yards and 10 touchdowns in the IFFA tournament last weekend. On defense, Warner's (FL) O'Mariah Gordon won the honors after recording five interceptions in three games. Gordon also received the NAIA's Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Texas A&M, Next Level Flag Football Launching League

Texas A&M University and Next Level Flag Football are launching a local flag football league, with separate divisions for first through sixth grades. The five-week league will kick off on Sunday, March 29, and end with divisional championships on Sunday, May 3. There will be no games on Easter Sunday (April 5), with a doubleheader scheduled for Sunday, April 19. Those interested near or around the College Station area can register here.
