2026 Women's College Flag Football Recap for March 22
Another week of the 2026 college flag football season is in the books. There were some impressive wins, great performances, and a few upsets. As usual, we'll look at each governing body (NCAA, NAIA, JUCOs, etc.) and end with a small preview of next week's games. Click here to check out previous recaps for the 2026 spring season.
NCAA
Let's go through the NCAA's busy week in alphabetical order, starting with Barton in the Conference Carolinas.
- Barton (NC) went 4-0 this week. The Bulldogs defeated Chowan (NC) 54-0 and 66-0 on Wednesday in Conference Carolinas action. The Bulldogs then posted another doubleheader win against Wingate (NC) 38-27 and Mars Hill (NC) 69-0. Barton is 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the CC.
- Valerie-Ange Batta threw for 433 yards, 10 TDs, and 1 pick in the Chowan sweep. She also ran for 133 yards and 2 scores. Saron Merid had 15 catches for 303 yards and 6 scores in the two wins.
- Eastern University (PA) needed overtime to beat Montclair State (NJ) on Tuesday, 18-12. Kira Green accounted for all three touchdowns, including the game-winning pass in OT.
- Eastern split the Sunday doubleheader, winning 41-6 versus Penn State Schuylkill and losing 25-0 versus Marymount (VA). Green threw 4 touchdowns against Schuylkill, as Jeriyah Johnson and Damiyae Moyet caught 2 TDs apiece.
- The loss to Marymount was the first for Eastern, which is now 6-1 overall and 5-1 in the Atlantic East. The Eagles were held to 131 yards on offense. Kyla Massenburg recorded 9 tackles, 4 tackles-for-loss, and 3 sacks in the loss.
- Ferrum (VA) went 3-0 with wins versus Hollins (VA) 75-0 on Wednesday, plus Emmanuel (GA) 14-0 and Mount St. Mary's (MD) 32-6 on Saturday. Ferrum is 9-2 overall and 4-0 in the CC.
- The Ferrum offense did its typical work of overwhelming the opposing defense, but it was the Ferrum defense that was on point this week. Against Hollins, they recorded 6 tackles-for-loss, 3 sacks, and 7 interceptions. Against Mount St. Mary's, the team recorded 10 tackles-for-loss, 9 sacks, and 2 picks. Versus Emmanuel, it was a 4 tackle-for-loss, 3 sack, and 1 interception effort.
- Immaculata (PA) won another two Atlantic East Conference games on Friday. The Mighty Macs defeated Chestnut Hill (PA) 32-0 and Neumann (PA) 27-6. Immaculata is 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the AEC to start the 2026 season.
- Immaculata ran for 152 yards against Chestnut Hill, but it was the passing attack that capped off most of the drives. Eliana Szatkowski had 2 TD grabs, while she also accounted for 2 of the 5 interceptions on defense.
- Against Neumman, the defense held Ava Valente to just 8 completions on her 26 attempts. Devan Cosgrove and Jaclyn Molinini both had a touchdown pass and a rushing touchdown in the game.
- Marian (WI) went 3-0 on the week, sweeping Illinois Wesleyan 12-0, North Park (IL) 31-9, and UW-Oshkosh (WI) 22-0. The Sabres are 3-1 on the season.
- Holly Goodwin threw for 3 touchdowns, ran for a score, and recorded two interceptions in the win against North Park. She threw for 1 score and recorded an interception against Illinois Wesleyan.
- Marymount (VA) won its two games against Eastern (PA) 25-0 and Penn State Schuylkill 49-0. The Saints have posted three straight shutouts to move to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the Atlantic East Conference.
- Cara Vollmer threw for 302 yards, 5 TDs, and 1 interception across the two wins. She added another TD rushing. Kayla Barr had 7 catches for 63 yards and 3 TDs against Eastern. The defense performed very well, holding Schuylkill to 85 total yards and Eastern to 131 total yards.
NAIA Poll
The IFFA's NAIA week 4 coaches poll was released on Thursday. The top four of Warner (FL), Ottawa (KS), Keiser (FL), and Baker (KS) remained unchanged for the second straight week. Kansas Wesleyan and Milligan (TN) swapped places in 5th and 6th, respectively. Webber International (FL) stayed in 7th, St. Thomas (FL) jumped to 8th, Life (GA) stayed in 9th, and Hope International (CA) climbed to 10th. Thomas (GA) dropped two spots to 11th, Lindsey Wilson (KY) moved to 12th, St. Francis (IN) jumped to 13th, Midland (NE) re-entered the poll at 14th after a one-week absence, and Campbellsville (KY) fell three spots to 15th. Siena Heights (MI) was 14th last week, but fell out. The full poll is below.

NAIA
It was another full week of action in the NAIA, with all three conferences having meaningful games this week. We'll start with the Great Southwest Athletic Conference, which had a jamboree on Wednesday and Thursday, and go in order of the conference standings.
- Hope International (CA) went 3-0 on the week to move to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in the GSAC. The Royals defeated Arizona Christian, Benedictine Mesa (AZ), and Ottawa (AZ) without allowing more than a touchdown in each of the games. Madison Powell had a great week, catching 24 passes for 251 yards and 3 touchdowns. She also recorded an interception on defense, while Ja'Niya Haley had 3 picks and Nahla Nelson had 2.
- La Sierra (CA) also went 3-0 to move to 7-3 overall and 4-1 in the GSAC. Ariana Rivera threw for 427 yards, 7 TDs, and 2 interceptions, while adding another 68 yards and 3 scores on the ground in the wins over Arizona Christian (38-19) and Benedictine Mesa (33-27).
- Arizona Christian had the tough task of facing both Hope International and La Sierra. The Firestorm lost both of those games, but posted a 32-13 win over Simpson (CA). ACU is 3-5 overall and 3-2 in the GSAC. Seylah Childress had a rushing touchdown in two of the games (93 rushing yards), while CC Maccagnano threw for 585 yards, 6 TDs, and 5 picks across the three games.
- Benedictine Mesa (AZ) went 0-3, but Isabella Misquez had a good week defensively. She recorded 12 flag pulls, 3 interceptions, and 5 pass breakups. She had 2 interceptions and 4 pass breakups against La Sierra alone. Mesa is 2-5 overall and 2-4 in the GSAC
In the KCAC, there was a mixture of conference games and non-conference games. That didn't stop Ottawa from staying undefeated to remain atop the league. Like the GSAC, we'll go through the teams based on the conference standings.
- Ottawa (KS) only played one game this week, a 60-6 thrashing of Cottey (MO) at home. Anna Anderson accounted for 5 TDs (3 passing, 2 rushing), while Olga Sotillo and Isabella Sosa both had 3 TD receptions apiece. The Braves are 4-0 in KCAC play.
- Midland (NE) played a midweek game against Saint Mary (KS), and they also posted a decisive 61-7 win. Lotta Wulff threw 6 touchdown passes, Emma Rodriguez had an efficient stat line of 2 carries for 3 yards and 2 TDs, Holiness Hodges caught 3 TD passes, Alyssa Butler caught 2 TD passes, and Olivia Dominguez-Millsop had 2 TD catches. Midland is 4-1 in the KCAC, just ahead of Baker (KS).
- Midland went 1-2 over the weekend in the Saint Francis tournament. The Warriors defeated Siena Heights (MI) 25-13, but dropped games to Campbellsville (KY) 20-14 and Saint Francis (IN) 40-19. Midland is 6-4 overall and 5-1 in the KCAC.
- After the 12- 6 loss at home to Ottawa, the Baker Wildcats responded with two KCAC victories this week. The most notable one happened on Tuesday with a 31-6 win at home versus Kansas Wesleyan. Sanija Walker threw for 88 yards and 2 scores, but ran for 98 yards and a score in the win against Kansas Wesleyan. Baker is 3-1 in the KCAC and just a half-game behind Midland in the standings.
- Tara Llorente had 79 yards and 1 score rushing against KWU. Mahagonay Simmons caught 2 passes for 60 yards and 2 scores. Natalie Busch led the team with 10 flag pulls.
- Baker also defeated Hesston (KS) 50-0 on Wednesday. Walker threw for 143 yards and 4 scores, while adding another 61 yards and 2 scores on the ground. Gabriella Zabaletta led the team with 9 flag pulls and also recorded an interception.
- Graceland (IA) won its midweek game at home against William Woods (MO) 61-19, but lost three games at the weekend in close fashion. The Yellowjackets lost 21-18 against Campbellsville (KY), 39-28 to Saint Francis (IN), and 35-34 in double OT to Siena Heights (MI).
- Sierra Flores accounted for 8 TDs against William Woods (6 passing, 2 rushing). Ahmari Byrd had 11 catches for 226 yards and 2 scores plus 3 picks against WWU. Byrd led Graceland in receiving all three games at the weekend, totaling 19 catches for 297 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Over in the Sun Conference, there were a few notable upsets this week. Let's start at the top of the standings, where Keiser (FL) remained undefeated.
- Keiser played two midweek games, beating both Point (GA) 35-7 and Brewton-Parker (GA) 34-12 on the road. Ava Wallace threw for 526 yards, 8 TDs, and 3 interceptions across the two wins. Wallace distributed the ball efficiently, with four different receivers catching a TD in each game. Keiser is 9-1 overall and 5-0 in the Sun.
- Dakota Moberg recorded 24 flag pulls, leading the team in both contests. She also had 4 pass breakups and an interception. Ashlea Klam recorded a two-interception game against Point.
- Even though Point lost, Kenzie Phillian had 3 interceptions on defense and 5 catches for 37 yards and the lone score for the Skyhawks.
- A marquee battle between St. Thomas (FL) and Thomas (GA) was won by STU, 25-12. Sherice Newton threw for 162 yards and 1 TD, while adding another 48 yards and 1 TD on the ground in the win. Thomas's Destiny Lockett had 192 yards passing, 2 TDs, and 3 INTs, along with another 11 flag pulls on defense.
- St. Thomas defeated Point (GA) on Friday, 24-18. The teams combined to throw 8 interceptions. STU's Sherice Newton threw for 132 yards, 1 TD, and 3 picks, while rushing for 53 yards and a score. The Bobcats are 8-1 overall and 4-0 in the Sun Conference.
- Warner (FL) did not play this, sitting at 10-0 overall and 2-0 in the Sun Conference. The Royals will have 4 games next week, including three conference matchups.
- Webber International (FL) defeated Reinhardt (GA) 41-0 on Friday, but was stunned by Life (GA) 13-12 on Saturday. Rylee Bolser had an incredible two games. She had 7 catches for 111 yards and 4 TDs, along with 5 flag pulls versus Reinhardt. Against Life, she recorded 13 catches for 89 yards and a score, threw for a 32-yard TD pass, and had a game-high 14 flag pulls. It was a big win for Life, which hadn't played a game in two weeks. Webber sits at 9-2 overall and 4-1 in the Sun, with Life at 4-2 overall and 3-2 in conference.
In other quick hits from the NAIA:
- Milligan (TN) continues its perfect start. The Buffs went 3-0, scoring victories over Cumberland (TN) 53-0, Illinois Wesleyan 82-6, and King (TN) 64-12. Milligan is vying for the fourth automatic bid to the 2026 NAIA tournament and is sitting in a good spot at 13-0 overall.
- Bridget Keyser is already at eye-popping totals at the halfway point of the season. She has thrown for 3,600 yards and 67 touchdowns against only 6 picks. This week was 742 yards, 20 TDs, and no interceptions.
- Parker Bridges had 4 interceptions across the three wins, including two returned for a TD. The Milligan defense had a total of 14 interceptions last week.
- Lindsey Wilson (KY) swept a doubleheader against Wittenberg (OH) with 51-6 and 34-0 wins. Amaya Pablo had 368 yards and 9 TDs passing, along with 133 yards and 2 rushing TDs on 14 carries. The Blue Raiders improved to 6-1 overall.
- Saint Francis (IN) won its two games over the weekend, defeating KCAC opponents Graceland (IA) 39-28 and Midland (NE) 40-19. Jianna Reyes threw for 384 yards, 4 TDs, and 2 picks, while rushing for another 2 scores against Graceland.
- Harmany Walker led the team with 5 catches for 149 yards and 2 receiving TDs, and teammate Haylee Weatherspoon had 7 grabs for 113 yards and 2 scores. On defense, Weatherspoon recorded 7 flag pulls, 2 pass breakups, and 1 interception.
JUCOs and Other Governing Bodies
There were several big games this week at the JUCO level out in California. Saddleback (CA) finally lost its first game after starting the season 14-0, falling 26-20 against Cypress (CA). The Bobcats trailed 14-0 in the first quarter and 20-6 at the break. Saddleback rallied in the second half to tie the game back at 20, but it was Mia Cabral's quick feet that proved the difference when she ran into the end zone late in the game. Saddleback dropped to 14-1 overall, while Cypress is now 12-3.
The other big game was more of an upset when Golden West (CA) shocked Irvine Valley (CA) 33-31. IVC held a 25-6 lead at halftime, but Golden West scored two touchdowns to cut the deficit to 25-20. A touchdown midway through the 4th quarter extended IVC's lead to 31-20, but Golden West responded to make it a 31-26 game. After a defensive stop, the Rustlers scored with 9 seconds left to win 33-31. Golden West is 5-4 overall, while Irvine Valley dropped to 9-3 overall.
Neither Florida Gateway nor Nevada State had any games in the last week, but that changes when both are scheduled to play two games apiece.
The Week Ahead
On Monday, March 23, Warner (FL) returns to the field with a game at Life (GA), while Irvine Valley (CA) hopes to bounce back against Ventura (CA). Warner is also slated to face Reinhardt (GA) on Tuesday. The same day, Kansas Wesleyan and Ottawa (AZ) will square off in a KCAC matchup. Saddleback (CA) will welcome (CA) after suffering its first loss of the season.
On Wednesday, the KCAC will have multiple conference games, while the NCAA D-III Atlantic East Conference will have a full slate of matchups. Thursday will feature three games from the NAIA's Great Southwest Athletic Conference and the NCAA D-II Conference Carolinas. On Friday, March 27, Campbellsville (KY) will host its Flag Frenzy, while the NCAA D-II CIAA will have the second jamboree of the season. The NAIA's Sun Conference will also have a few teams in action.
Saturday is packed full of games, led by the NCFFL's Maryland Tournament. The NAIA's KCAC and Sun will have conference matchups, while North Carolina Central will host a tournament in Durham. Sunday, March 29, will see the NCFFL's tournament conclude, while the Atlantic East will have a notable matchup between Immaculata (PA) and Marymount (VA). The club teams from Colorado and Montana will meet in Billings, Montana.
