Manor College Adding Flag Football
Manor College will add women's flag football next year. Manor is located in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, and competes in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The latest tally has over 85 schools adding flag football for the 2026 spring season. More than 200 varsity and club teams are expected to compete next season.
Pennsylvania has been a popular state for schools to add a collegiate flag football team. The state will have 23 schools participating next season, just behind Florida at 24 and ahead of New York's 21. California and North Carolina are expected to have 15 teams next season. Those numbers are subject to change as more schools add the sport.
The NCAA has taken notice of the growth and is proposing that it enter the Emerging Sports for Women program. Eventually, the sport could become an official NCAA championship sport at all three divisions. The NAIA already has nearly two dozen varsity programs, led by the KCAC and the Sun Conference.
15 states have sanctioned flag football at the high school level: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Mississippi, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Washington. Louisiana approved a pilot program earlier this year, while Indiana and Missouri both designated it an emerging sport.
