Welcome to the January 5 edition of the women's college flag football newsletter here at Collegiate Flag Football. We will look at the various stories and happenings across the sport over the last two weeks, between Monday, December 22, 2025, and Sunday, January 4, 2026. No Additions, 1 Change

There were no new teams announced in the previous two weeks, but one team announced a new affiliation. Marymount University (VA) will compete in the newly established Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for the spring 2026 season. The ECAC is up to 12 teams for the 2026 spring season.

2025-26 College Flag Football Season Resumes

College flag football returns to the field this week with the NIRSA National Championships. Club and intramural teams from around the country will compete on the campus of Rice University in Houston, Texas. There will be men's, women's, coed, and unified divisions seeking to win titles this week.

2025-26 Scheduling News

Cal Poly (CA) will host its first spring tournament on Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, 2026. The tournament is open to any school that wishes to participate, and it will be held on campus in San Luis Obispo, California. Any collegiate flag football program interested in competing at Cal Poly's tournament should contact Ryan Weisenberg (rweisenb@calpoly[dot]edu).

The National Collegiate Flag Football League (NCFFL) spring 2026 campaign will feature a 10-game season, with playoffs and a championship. For current NCFFL members, there are still slots available for the Maryland Regional, Pennsylvania Regional, and National Championship. The deadline for those is Thursday, January 15, 2026. The NCFFL also posted the current list of participants for spring 2026. Dates for the spring tournaments and championships are as follows:

The first spring tournament will take place on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, at Howard Community College (MD) in Columbia, Maryland. The second spring tournament will take place two weeks later, on Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, at Lancaster Bible College (PA) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Finally, the NCFFL National Championships will be held on Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3, at the Capelli Sports Complex in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.

The NCFFL is looking for schools that would like to host a flag football tournament during the 2026-27 academic year. The NCFFL plans to have at least 8 events next season. For fall 2026, the aim is to have 2 East Coast and 1 West Coast tournaments. For spring 2027, the NCFFL is hoping to have 4 regionals in the Central and Eastern US, 2 in the Midwest and West Coast, and the National Championship. The NCFFL updated the membership for the 2025-26 academic year, with over 20 schools participating. The full list of NCFFL members for the academic year is provided below.

The Women's Collegiate Flag Football League (WCFFL) is looking for additional teams to compete during the 2026 spring season. The WCFFL will have tournaments in the spring. Those interested should contact Venisha Lee (wcflagfootball1@gmail[dot]com).

NEW THIS WEEK: Bethel College (KS) revealed its 2026 spring schedule. The Threshers will begin the season on Saturday, February 28, with a home game versus Cottey College (MO). Bethel will have five straight road games, starting with Ottawa University (KS) on Wednesday, March 4. Up next will be a game at William Woods University (MO) on Saturday, March 7, followed by a game at Midland University (NE) on Wednesday, March 11.

The penultimate game in the stretch of road games will be on Monday, March 16, versus Southwestern College (KS). The final road game will be against Hesston College (KS) on Wednesday, March 25. Bethel will then play three straight home games against Baker University (KS) on Saturday, March 28, Kansas Wesleyan University on Wednesday, April 1, and the University of Saint Mary (KS) on Saturday, April 4. Bethel's regular season will conclude on Monday, April 6, with a game at Graceland University (IA).

NEW THIS WEEK: Irvine Valley College (CA) posted its 2026 spring schedule. The Lasers will start the season on Saturday, February 7, with a game at Redlands University (CA), before a long break and continuing the season in March. On Wednesday, March 4, IVC will play at home versus Ventura College (CA). Friday, March 6, will be a busy day with a tripleheader against East Los Angeles College (CA), El Camino College (CA), and MiraCosta College (CA).

March will continue with games at home against Norco College (CA) on Tuesday, March 10, and Cypress College (CA) on Thursday, March 12. IVC will have a doubleheader on Thursday, March 19, against Golden West College (CA) and Ventura (CA). March will conclude with a game against Saddleback College (CA) on Thursday, March 26.

On April 1, Irvine will play at Moreno Valley College (CA), followed by a game against Cypress (CA) the next day. On Monday, April 6, the Lasers will play at Norco (CA). IVC will then have back-to-back home games against Golden West (CA) on Thursday, April 9, and Redlands on Tuesday, April 14. IVC will also have a game against Saddleback (CA) on Thursday, April 16, before the Orange Empire Conference tournament on Friday, April 24. Should IVC reach the OEC Final, that game will take place on Friday, May 1, but the Lasers will also play in the Cal Poly Tournament from Friday, May 8, through Sunday, May 10.

NEW THIS WEEK: Midland University (NE) unveiled its 2026 spring campaign. Midland will start the season with a pair of road games at Baker University (KS) on Wednesday, February 25, and Hesston College (KS) on Saturday, February 28. The early portion of March will see home games versus Kansas Wesleyan University on Wednesday, March 4, Cottey College (MO) on Saturday, March 7, and Bethel College (KS) on Saturday, March 11.

The Warriors will have a final home game on Saturday, March 14, against William Woods University (MO), before embarking on a series of games away from Midland. On Wednesday, March 18, they'll play at the University of Saint Mary (KS). There will be three games held on Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21, against Siena Heights University (MI), the University of Saint Francis (IN), and a to-be-determined opponent. The month will end with a road game at Ottawa University (KS).

April will feature four regular season games, starting at home against Graceland University (IA) on Wednesday, April 1. Midland will also welcome Baker (KS) to Fremont on Saturday, April 4. The Warrirors will play at Southwestern College (KS) on Wednesday, April 8, and finish up with a game on Saturday, April 11, versus a to-be-determined opponent.

NEW THIS WEEK: Penn State University Harrisburg (PA) dropped its spring 2026 campaign. Harrisburg will begin its first season on Wednesday, March 4, against Keystone College (PA) at home. The next two games will also take place at home on Saturday, March 21, against Cedar Crest College (PA) and Lancaster Bible College (PA). March will conclude with a doubleheader in the nation's capital against Gallaudet University (DC) and Cairn University (PA) on Saturday, March 28.

April begins with an away game at Keystone (PA) on Wednesday, April 1. Harrisburg will have another away doubleheader on Saturday, April 11, at Cedar Crest (PA) and Gallaudet (DC). The regular season will end at home on Saturday, April 18, with games against Cairn (PA) and Lancaster Bible College (PA).

NEW THIS WEEK: Point University (GA) revealed its 2026 spring schedule. The Skyhawks will start the season on Friday, February 13, with a doubleheader at home against Andrew College (GA) and Daytona State College (FL). On Saturday, February 21, Point will play at Reinhardt University (GA), and end the month at home versus LaGrange College (GA) on Saturday, February 28.

March will begin at home against Florida Gateway College on Monday, March 2. On Friday, March 6, Point will play at Huntingdon College (AL), followed by another road game the next day at Alabama State University. The Skyhawks will return to Sun Conference play with games at Warner University (FL) on Friday, March 13, and Webber International University (FL) on Saturday, March 14.

The second half of March will begin with a series of home games against Sun rivals. On Tuesday, March 17, Point will welcome Keiser University (FL). On Thursday, March 19, Point will take on Florida Memorial University, followed by another home game against St. Thomas University (FL) the next day. March will end with Point facing Brewton-Parker Christian University (GA) on Saturday, March 28.

Point will face Life University (GA) on Thursday, April 2. Senior Night will be held on Saturday, April 4, against Kennesaw State University (GA). The final two regular season games will be on the road against Thomas University (GA) on Thursday, April 9, and Florida Gateway on Saturday, April 11.

NEW THIS WEEK: Wingate University (NC) posted its 2026 spring schedule. The Bulldogs will start the season at Reinhardt University (GA) on Thursday, February 26. The next two days will see Wingate face Ottawa University (KS) and Keiser University (FL) before taking part in the IFFA Tournament from Wednesday, March 4, through Saturday, March 7, in Tampa, Florida.

On Saturday, March 14, Wingate will face Lees-McRae College (NC) and King University (TN). The following Saturday, Wingate will host a doubleheader against Barton College (NC) and the University of Mount Olive (NC). On Tuesday, March 24, the Bulldogs will welcome Ferrum College (VA) to Wingate, North Carolina. March will end with another doubleheader on Friday, March 27, against Milligan University (TN) and Mars Hill University (NC).

April will see Wingate play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 4, versus Mount St. Mary's University (MD) and Chowan University (NC). The regular season will conclude on Saturday, April 11, with games against Erskine College (SC) and Emmanuel University (GA).

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Colorado and the University of Montana have scheduled a two-game series for spring 2026. The two schools will play a pair of games in Billings, Montana, on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29. Spring 2026 will be the first season for both club teams.

Chicago Bears Publish Part 2 of Whitney Young's 2025 Fall Season

In the second part of its three-part series on Whitney Young's 2025 fall season, the Chicago Bears document the team's playoff run. The second part begins with Whitney Young's dominant victory to secure a second straight sectional championship. It continues to follow the team as they participate in the quarterfinals and semifinals, with the bonds created between the players highlighted. The second part ends with the IHSA Championship Game loss against Maine South. The second part can be found here.

NEW THIS WEEK: Andrew College (GA) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Those interested can apply here.

Aurora University (IL) posted a job description for a part-time assistant women's flag football coaching position.

NEW THIS WEEK: Baldwin Wallace University (OH) posted a job description for the head coaching vacancy. Baldwin Wallace will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Benedictine University (IL) posted a job description for a seasonal assistant coaching position.

Campbellsville University (KY) is seeking a part-time assistant flag football coach. The Tigers named Spencer McCown head coach in July 2025.

Cedar Crest College (PA) posted the job description for the flag football head coaching vacancy. Amanda Avvento was previously the head coach.

The College of Saint Benedict (MN) posted a job description for a women's flag football head coaching vacancy. CSB will begin competing as a club team during the 2025-26 academic year.

Greenville University (IL) posted a job description for a women's flag football head coaching position. Greenville hasn't made an official announcement about adding a flag football program.

Grossmont College (CA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role.

Guilford College (NC) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Guilford will begin playing flag football in the 2026-27 academic year.

Hardin-Simmons University (TX) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role. HSU will begin playing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Howard Payne University (TX) posted the job description for the women's flag football coaching vacancy. HPU will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.

Indiana Wesleyan University posted the head coaching job description for the newly formed flag football team. IWU will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.

Jacksonville University (FL) posted the job description for the women's flag football club team vacancy. Jacksonville will play its first season in spring 2026.

Lewis University (IL) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coach opening. Lewis will play its first season in the 2026-27 academic year.

Manhattan University (NY) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Manhattan has not made a formal announcement regarding the addition of a flag football program.

McPherson College (KS) is looking to fill its head coaching vacancy. Those interested can fill out the application here or contact Ed Loeb at loebe@mcpherson[dot]com. McPherson will begin playing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Mercy University (NY) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching opening. Mercy will begin competing in spring 2026.

Newberry College (SC) posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching opening. Newberry will begin competing in spring 2026.

Northwest Shoals Community College (AL) has posted the job description for the head coaching vacancy. Jamie Jeffreys previously held the position for the 2025 fall season.

NEW THIS WEEK: Saginaw Valley State University (MI) has hired Amber Clark as the flag football program's first head coach. Clark was previously with the University of Saint Mary (KS) from 2022 through 2025. SVSU will play its inaugural season in the 2026-27 academic year.

St. John Fisher University (NY) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role. SJFU will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Triton College (IL) is seeking an assistant coach for the 2026 spring season. Those interested should reach out to head coach Scott Smith at samuelesmith3@triton[dot]com.

The University of Illinois Springfield posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role. UIS will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Montana has added Samuel Jones as an assistant coach. Montana will begin playing as a club team during the spring 2026 season.

The University of North Alabama posted the job description for the women's flag football head coach opening. The Lions will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Saint Mary (KS) head coach, Amber Clark, has left the head coaching position for the same role at NCAA Division II Saginaw Valley State University. Clark was the head coach at Saint Mary for four seasons, from 2022 through 2025.

Future Camps and Clinics

The International Flag League (formerly USA Flag) will host the 2026 World Championships from Wednesday, January 14, through Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Tampa, Florida. The registration deadline closed on Friday, December 5, 2025.

Benedictine University Mesa (AZ) will host a high school flag football showcase on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM. The showcase will take place on campus as the BENU PEC in Mesa, Arizona, and participants can register here.

The Golden States Games will take place from Friday, January 16, through Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Irvine, California. There will be divisions for nearly every age group, including a women's college flag division. Part of the Games will have a Prospect Showcase hosted by Cal Poly, and they will partner up with the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers.

Duke University (NC) will partner with Next Level Flag Football to host a 7-week season from Sunday, January 18, 2026, through Sunday, March 1, 2026. The league is coed and open to local students in first through sixth grades.

Prairie View A&M University (TX) and Nike will host a winter flag football mega camp on Sunday, January 25, 2026. The camp will be held from 1 PM to 5 PM at the Panther Stadium in Prairie View, Texas. Colleges that will be in attendance include Cottey (MO), Florida Memorial, Grand Canyon (AZ), Hesston (KS), Kansas Wesleyan, LaGrange (GA), Point (GA), Southwestern (KS), St. Thomas (FL), and Webber International (FL).

The Heritage Girls Flag Bowl will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in San Diego, California. The Flag Bowl is open to junior and senior high school students. Players interested in participating can register here, with coaches from the two teams evaluating and ranking players to provide an opportunity to be drafted to play in the Heritage Bowl. The registration deadline is Saturday, October 25, and players will be drafted on Saturday, November 1. Players participating in the Flag Bowl will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to San Diego.

The Houston Texans will host a girls flag football college showcase on Saturday, January 31, 2026. The showcase will be held at the Houston Methodist Training Center in Houston, Texas. The registration form can be found here.

The Indianapolis Colts will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Westfield, Indiana. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, January 23, 2026.

The Miami Dolphins will host an adult Talent ID Camp on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Miami Gardens, Florida. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, January 30, 2026.

Villa Maria College (NY) will have a women's flag football camp & showcase on Saturday, February 14, 2026, which will feature US Women's National Team member Izzy Geraci. The camp will take place from 12 PM to 2:30 PM at Villa Maria's athletic center in Buffalo, New York.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, February 6, 2026.

NEW THIS WEEK: Arizona Christian University will host a talent ID camp on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 9 AM to 1:30 PM. The camp will be held on campus at Arizona Christian University's Main Football Field in Glendale, Arizona.

SCAD Savannah (GA) is hosting a women's flag football prospect camp on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. The camp will take place after the SCAD Day events from 9 AM to 2 PM. The camp will be held at the SCAD Athletics Complex, located just across the Georgia-South Carolina border in Hardeeville, South Carolina.

The Seattle Seahawks will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in Renton, Washington. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, February 13, 2026.

The New York Jets will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Florham Park, New Jersey. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, February 20, 2026.

The Philadelphia Eagles will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, February 27, 2026.

The Arizona Cardinals will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the West Valley Sports Complex in Glendale, Arizona. The registration deadline is Monday, February 9, 2026.

The Miami Dolphins will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Mills Pond Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The registration deadline is Monday, February 9, 2026.

The Dallas Cowboys will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Sunday, March 15, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, March 6, 2026.

Howard Community College (MD) will host a spring flag football league in the Spring of 2026. Games will be played each Sunday, starting March 22, 2026, and the league will conclude on June 14, 2026.

Niagara Youth Flag Football (Canada) will host an All-Girls University Camp on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 9 AM to 12 PM. The camp will take place at Youngs Sportsplex in Welland, Ontario, Canada. Canadian Universities Brock, Sheridan, and Western will be joined by Villa Maria College from the Buffalo, New York area.

The San Francisco 49ers will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Morgan Hill, California. The registration deadline is Monday, February 16, 2026.

The Chicago Bears will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Bridgeview, Illinois. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, March 20, 2026.

Howard Community College (MD) will host a flag football scouting combine the weekend of Saturday, March 28, 2026, and Sunday, March 29, 2026. The camp will take place in Columbia, Maryland, and is open to high school girls in grades 9 through 12. The camp coincides with the NCFFL's Maryland Championship Series.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Clay County Parks in Middleburg, Florida. The registration deadline is Monday, March 9, 2026.

Lancaster Bible College (PA) will host a flag football scouting combine on Friday, April 10, 2026, and Saturday, April 11, 2026. Leo Brownfield Talks About His Vision for McMurry's Program

McMurry University (TX) flag football head coach Leo Brownfield talked about hopes for the program after his recent hiring. Brownfield is aiming to assemble a roster of 20 women for McMurry's inaugural season in spring 2027. Brownfield plans to recruit athletes from other sports, such as soccer and volleyball, and hopes to compete with NCAA Division I teams. McMurry will take the field for the first time in spring 2027, alongside the other five schools from the NCAA Division III American Southwest Confernece.

Maxwell Football Club Announces National Player of the Year Nominees

The Maxwell Football Club announced its 32 nominees for National Flag Football Player of the Year. Each NFL team provided a nominee, who was determined by "on-field performance, academic achievement, and community service." The winner of the 2nd annual MFC National Flag Football Player of the Year Award will be revealed on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Montana's First Collegiate Scholarship Player

Karley Allen, quarterback of Kalispell Glacier High School's flag football, is set to embark on her collegiate journey in fall 2026. Allen has committed to the NAIA's Milligan University in Tennessee, and is the first Montanan to receive a flag football scholarship. Allen discusses her own athletic journey, her interest in flag football, and how she made her decision to attend Milligan. Allen was torn between Milligan and William Woods University in Missouri, and planned to wait until after the fall flag football season finished before making a decision.
