13 Additions This Week, 2 Club Changes, and 1 Affiliation Change

Alabama, LSU, Miami (FL), and Utah will add student-run club teams for the 2026-27 academic year, as will another trio of NCAA Division I programs in Canisius University (NY), Stetson University (FL), and UNC Greensboro (NC).

Bergen Community College (NJ) will add a women's flag football club team for the 2026-27 academic year. Bergen is hoping to compete at the varsity level in the future.

Franklin College (IN) will add a women's flag football club team for the 2026-27 academic year, followed by elevation to varsity status beginning in 2027-28.

Lincoln Memorial University (TN) will add a varsity women's flag football program beginning with the 2027-28 academic year. LMU is the fifth school from the NCAA Division II South Atlantic to add a flag football team.

Miles will add a women's flag football competitive club team for the 2026-27 academic year. The school will likely compete in the NCAA Division II SIAC's inaugural season in spring 2027.

Montana Tech will add a club team for the 2026-27 academic year and will begin competing this fall. Montana Tech is the fifth school in the NAIA's Frontier Conference to add flag football.

Mount St. Mary's University (MD) will not compete as an affiliate member of the NCAA D-II Conference Carolinas for the 2027 spring season, but will continue competing in the ECAC.

Rutgers University (NJ) and the University of Maryland will compete in NIRSA's Women's Flag Football Club League for the 2026-27 academic year.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has added a student-run club team for the 2026-27 academic year. UWW is the fourth school from the NCAA D-III WIAC to add a club or varsity team.

2026-27 Scheduling News

George Mason University (VA) released its 2026 fall schedule. GMU will face Radford (VA) on October 4, play at Mount St. Mary's (MD) on October 18, welcome Virginia on November 1, compete in Maryland's NIRSA tournament on November 6-7, and play at Marymount (VA) on November 15.

Providence College (RI) announced its fall schedule, with three games on tap. First up will be a home game versus Connecticut on October 18, then a game at Iona (NY) on November 7, and the final game at Sacred Heart (CT) on November 21.

North Carolina Central will play a scrimmage at Duke (NC) on Wednesday, September 23, and welcome UNC Greensboro for a scrimmage on Sunday, September 27.

NEW THIS WEEK: Cal Poly SLO's (CA) women's flag football club team is seeking three-team round-robin matchups for multiple dates across the fall and spring semesters. Open dates include December 5 (Saturday), February 6 (Sat.), February 20 (Sat.), February 27 (Sat.), March 5 (Friday), March 27 (Sat.), and April 10 (Sat.). Clemson University (SC) will host its 2nd TigerTown Showdown on Sunday, October 18, in Clemson, South Carolina. College teams interested in participating can register here.

NEW THIS WEEK: Montana State University is hosting the Turkey Bowl on Saturday, November 7. The tournament includes a 3-game guarantee. Interested teams can contact MSU via social media for more information.

The University of Florida announced that its 38th annual Swamp Bowl will take place from Friday, October 23 through Sunday, October 25. College teams interested in participating can register here.

Bradley University (IL) and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX) are seeking opponents for the 2027 spring season. Details are provided in the table below.

Alverno University (WI) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Alverno will begin competing in the 2027-28 academic year.

The Guimond Vukovic Group (GVG) is offering postgraduate opportunities for athletes seeking a one-year master's degree in the United Kingdom. Scholarship opportunities are available for students with a GPA of 2.8 or higher. Athletes who wish to continue playing collegiate flag football, develop programs, build the sport internationally, or pursue coaching opportunities are encouraged to apply. GVG offers a free service to connect student-athletes with partner institutions in the U.K. The FAQ section on GVG's website provides additional information. This postgraduate opportunity is in the United Kingdom.

Gwynedd Mercy University (PA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Gwynedd Mercy will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Ben Clemmons will serve as the linebacker/rusher coach, Dani Robbins as an offensive assistant, Gabriel Morales as the defensive backs coach, and Jessica Pepper and Krystena Lopez as defensive assistants.

NEW THIS WEEK: Sacred Heart University (CT) posted the job descriptions for a women's flag football head coach and assistant coach positions. Sacred Heart offers a club team.

San Bernardino Community College District (CA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. The position will be for either San Bernardino Valley College or Crafton Hills College. Neither school has officially announced a flag football program.

Shaw University (NC) posted the job description for a women's flag football assistant coaching position. Shaw will add women's flag football beginning with the 2026-27 academic year.

Simpson University (CA) is seeking assistant coaches for the women's flag football team in the upcoming 2026-27 academic year. Those interested should contact head coach Jose Sanchez at jsanchez@simpsonu.edu.

St. Lawrence University (NY) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. St. Lawrence will begin competing in the 2027-28 academic year.

Union College of Union County (NJ) posted a job description for a women's flag football assistant coaching position. UCNJ has not yet announced the addition of a women's flag football program.

The University of North Texas at Dallas posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. UNT Dallas will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Ursinus College (PA) posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching position. Ursinus will begin competing in the 2027-28 academic year.

Washington Adventist University (MD) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position.

Westfield State University (MA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Westfield State will launch a club team for the 2026-27 academic year and transition the team to varsity status in 2027-28.

Laneah Bryan Talks Flag Journey

Laneah Bryan, US Women's National Flag Football team star, talks about her flag football journey in a short video. Bryan started playing sports at 5 and spoke about her football passion. She played basketball before switching over to flag football, while being dedicated to her family. Bryan cited Kobe Bryant as an inspiration for her own mentality when she's playing for Team USA. She is also excited for the opportunity to be part of the national team when flag football debuts at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

London Jenkins Chats About Her Early Days at Nebraska

London Jenkins transferred to the University of Nebraska earlier this summer after two years with the NJCAA's Florida Gateway College. Jenkins had some concerns about moving from Florida to Lincoln, but has noted the support of the coaches and community early on. Jenkins started as a basketball player until 11th grade, but moved to flag football her senior year after urging from a teammate. She notes that flag football has been more fun than basketball, which led her to choose flag and play at FGC.

Jenkins is hoping to represent Team USA for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, mentioning that the competition at Nebraska motivates her further. Jenkins provided advice for US Trial hopefuls as well: use the offseason to hone versatility at different positions. She is also keenly aware of her responsibility as a role model to younger athletes, and to help continue growing the sport. Check out the full 16-minute interview with Huskers Radio Network here.

Pair of Alabama State News Items

Alabama State University women's flag football assistant coach Toni Fuller has been named as a recipient of the Advancement of Women in Coaching grant from the Women's Sports Foundation (WSF). The WSF honors the legacy of Stanford women's basketball head coach Tara VanDerveer by providing fellowships and grants for women in collegiate coaching. Fuller served as offensive coordinator for Alabama State in spring 2026 and previously competed on the US Women's National Football Team.

ASU cornerback and wide receiver Jasmine Dunn spoke about her journey in flag football and to the Hornets. She's originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, but played at Ottawa University (KS) in spring 2025. She transferred to Alabama State for the 2026 spring season, with the proximity to family being a big reason. She competed as a gymnast and track athlete before taking up flag football in her senior year in high school. Check out the full interview here.

TMRW Sports to Host Annual Pro Flag Football Showcase

TMRW Sports announced the creation of an annual Pro Flag Football Showcase during Super Bowl week. The first showcase will take place in 2027 ahead of Super Bowl LXI in Los Angeles and will feature the top flag football players. The 2027 event will be held at a custom-built venue in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live.

World Flag Series Champs Repeat

H.E.R. (Hustle Every Rep) repeated as World Flag Series champions at WFS2, but it was far from an easy road. The debutants, Midnight Ballers, went 2-0 in pool play to secure an automatic spot in the championship game. Meanwhile, the defending champs went 0-2 in pool play with consecutive 20-7 losses to Midnight Ballers and Glitter Bombs.

H.E.R. and Glitter Bombs had an immediate rematch in the semifinals, with the entertaining match going down to the wire. Tori Brito's third touchdown of the game put H.E.R. up 27-20, but Glitter Bombs had one final chance from the 11-yard line. Lacey Abell couldn't get the pass away before the flag pull, which put the defending champs back in the championship game.

In the final, Midnight Ballers scored the first half's lone touchdown on Lucie Vinot's 7-yard catch-and-run. H.E.R. responded in the second half with a double pass to Silvana Munoz to tie the game at 7. Gisell Barba made a flag pull on fourth down to the ball back for H.E.R., which would prove to be the decisive drive. At the three-yard line, Haylie Young found an open Olivia Ghosh-Swaby for the 14-7 victory.

Campbellsville University (KY) will host the Dart Queen Showcase on Saturday, September 26, from 10 AM to 1 PM. The showcase is open to athletes ages 10 through 18. The showcase will be held on campus at the football field in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Lindsey Wilson University (KY) will host a flag football elite showcase on Saturday, September 26, from 10 AM to 2 PM. The showcase is open to athletes in grades 6 through 12 and will be held on campus at Parnell Family Stadium in Columbia, Kentucky.

St. Thomas University (FL) will host a women's flag football prospect camp on Saturday, September 26, from 10 AM to 12 PM. The camp will include combine testing, position-specific training, live scrimmage reps, and a campus tour. The camp will be held on campus in Miami Gardens, Florida.

NEW THIS WEEK: Binghamton University (NY) will host a women's flag football prospect clinic and skills combine on Saturday, October 3, from 1:30 to 4 PM. The combine is open to athletes in grades 9 and above and will be held on campus at the Bearcats Sports Complex in Binghamton, New York.

The Cleveland Browns (OH) will host an NFL FLAG Super Regional on Saturday, October 3. The tournament will be held at the Forever Lawn Sports Complex in Canton, Ohio. The registration deadline is Monday, August 31.

Florida Gateway College will host a women's flag football prospect camp on Saturday, October 3, from 3 to 6 PM. The camp will be held on campus at the FGC Flag Football Complex in Lake City, Florida. Those interested in participating should contact head coach Ricky Hufty at frank.huftyiv@fgc.edu.

Goldey-Beacom College (DE) will host a women's flag football prospect day on Saturday, October 3, from 2:30 to 6:30 PM. The day will start with a campus tour at 2:30, with the flag football skills and drills taking place from 5 to 6:30 PM. The camp is open to athletes in grades 9 through 12 and will be held on campus at the GBC multisport field in Wilmington, Delaware.

SUNY Brockport (NY) will host a women's flag football prospect camp on Saturday, October 3. The camp is open to athletes in grades 9 through 12 and will be held on campus at Bob Boozer Field in Brockport, New York.

Showball (FL) will host a flag football camp on Sunday, October 4. The camp will be held at Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, Florida, with more than 15 colleges in attendance for the showcase.

The Dallas Cowboys (TX) will host an NFL FLAG Regional on Saturday, October 10. The tournament will be held at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas. The registration deadline is Monday, September 7.

The Detroit Lions (MI) will host an NFL FLAG Regional on Saturday, October 10. The tournament will be held at the Legacy Center Sports Complex in Brighton, Michigan. The registration deadline is Monday, September 7.

Eastern Connecticut State University will host a women's flag football recruit day on Saturday, October 10, from 9:30 AM to 2 PM. The camp is open to high school recruits. The day will include Q&A with head coach Andy Crane, a campus tour, and seeing the flag football team scrimmage at 12:30 PM.

Florida Atlantic University will host a girls youth skills clinic and college ID camp on Saturday, October 10. The youth skills clinic will run from 9 AM to 12 PM and is open to athletes in grades 2 through 8. The college ID camp will run from 12 to 3 PM and is open to athletes in grades 9 through 12. Both camps will be held on campus in Boca Raton, Florida.

Meredith College (NC) will host a women's flag football prospect camp on Saturday, October 10, from 10 AM to 12 PM. The camp is open to athletes in grades 9 through 12 and will be held on campus at the Meredith College Athletic Turf Facility in Raleigh, North Carolina.

NEW THIS WEEK: Saginaw Valley State University (MI) will host a flag football fall skills clinic on Saturday, October 10, from 10 AM to 1 PM. The clinic is open to athletes ages 8 to 17 and will be held on campus at the SVSU Fieldhouse in University Center, Michigan.

Wisconsin Lutheran College will host a women's flag football skills challenge on Saturday, October 10, from 2 to 3:30 PM. The challenge is open to 2027 and 2028 high school athletes, as well as current WLC students. The challenge will be held at Historic Raabe Stadium in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Keiser University (FL) will host a girls flag football prospect clinic on Sunday, October 11, from 9 to 11 AM. The camp is open to athletes ages 5 through 18 and grades 1 through 12. The camp will be held on campus in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The Las Vegas Raiders (NV) will host an NFL FLAG Regional on Sunday, October 11. The tournament will be held at Heritage Park in Henderson, Nevada. The registration deadline is Monday, September 7.

Chestnut Hill College (PA) will host an open house and prospect camp on Saturday, October 17, from 10 AM to 3 PM. The camp will take place from 1 to 3 PM, and both events will be held on campus at the grass field next to the tennis courts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

NEW THIS WEEK: Cornell College (IA) will host a women's flag football campus visit day on Saturday, October 17. The visit day will begin at 11 AM. Cornell is located in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

Kansas Wesleyan University will host a girls flag football clinic on Saturday, October 17, from 10 AM to 12 PM. The clinic is open to athletes ages 5 through 14 and will be held at the Salina Family YMCA fields in Salina, Kansas.

The New York Jets (NJ) will host an NFL FLAG Regional on Sunday, October 18. The tournament will be held at the Athenia Steel Recreation Complex in Clifton, New Jersey. The registration deadline is Monday, September 14.

SCAD Savannah (GA) will host a women's flag football skills camp on Sunday, October 18, from 8 to 11 AM. The camp is open to athletes in grades 8 through 12 and will be held at the SCAD Athletics Complex in Hardeeville, South Carolina.

Slippery Rock University (FL) will host a women's flag football prospect camp on Sunday, October 18, from 10:30 AM to 1 PM. The camp will include speed and agility drills, offensive and defensive skill stations, and position-specific drills. The camp is open to athletes in grades 11 and 12, as well as junior college players. The camp will be held on campus at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.

Webber International University (FL) will host a women's flag football prospect camp on Sunday, October 18, from 10 AM to 1 PM. The camp will include skills training and talent evaluation. The camp will be held on campus at the WIU Football Field in Babson Park, Florida. Those interested can sign up here.

The Chicago Bears (IL) will host an NFL FLAG Regional on Saturday, October 24. The tournament will be held at the Clarence Hicks Sports Complex in Rockford, Illinois. The registration deadline is Monday, September 21.

Kansas Wesleyan University will host a women's flag football prospect camp on Saturday, October 24, from 7 to 11 AM. The camp will be open to athletes graduating in 2027, 2028, and 2029, and will be held on campus at JRI Stadium in Salina, Kansas.

The Tennessee Titans will host an NFL FLAG Regional on Saturday, October 24. The tournament will be held at Nolensville High School in Nolensville, Tennessee. The registration deadline is Monday, September 21.

The New Orleans Saints (LA) will host an NFL FLAG Regional on Saturday, October 31. The tournament will be held at the John A. Alario Sports Complex in Westwego, Louisiana. The registration deadline is Monday, September 28.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (PA) will host an NFL FLAG Regional on Saturday, October 31. The tournament will be held at Montour Sports Center in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. The registration deadline is Monday, September 28.

NEW THIS WEEK: Centercourt (NJ) will host a women's flag football college combine on Sunday, November 1, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The combine is open to athletes in grades 9 through 12 and will be attended by coaches from Manhattan University (NY), Montclair State University (NJ), and Wagner University (NY). The combine will be held at Centercourt Montclair in Montclair, New Jersey.

Keiser University (FL) will host a girls flag football prospect clinic on Sunday, November 8, from 9 to 11 AM. The camp is open to athletes ages 5 through 18 and grades 1 through 12. The camp will be held on campus in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The Baltimore Ravens (MD) will host an NFL FLAG Regional on Saturday, November 14. The tournament will be held at Eastern Regional Park in Middle River, Maryland. The registration deadline is Monday, October 12.

The Cincinnati Bengals (OH) will host an NFL FLAG Regional on Saturday, November 14. The tournament will be held at Sundin Fields at Heritage Oak Park in Mason, Ohio. The registration deadline is Monday, October 12.

Daytona State College (FL) is hosting a women's flag football skills and ID camp on Saturday, November 14, from 10 AM to 1 PM. The camp is open to athletes in grades 6 through 12 and will be hosted on campus in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Cal Poly (CA) will host an elite prospect camp on Sunday, November 15, from 10 AM to 2:30 PM. The camp is open to high school athletes graduating in 2027 and 2028. Registration for the camp will begin on Tuesday, September 1

Blackburn College (IL) will host a women's flag football prospect clinic on Saturday, November 21, from 2 to 5 PM. The clinic will be held on campus at the Blackburn Athletic Center in Carlinville, Illinois.

The Houston Texans (TX) will host an NFL FLAG Regional on Saturday, December 5. The tournament will be held at the Farm League Park in Spring, Texas. The registration deadline is Monday, November 2.

She's Next (AZ) will host a girls flag football Senior Showcase on Saturday, December 12, from 9 AM to 1 PM. The showcase is open only to the class of 2027 student-athletes and will be held at Corona del Sol High School in Tempe, Arizona. Athletes can sign up here.

Norco College (CA) will host the Real Ones Only Girls Flag Football Showcase Camp on Saturday, December 5. The camp will take place from 9 AM to 2 PM on campus in Norco, California. Arizona Christian University, Benedictine University Mesa (AZ), Hope International University (CA), La Sierra University (CA), Nevada State University, Our Lady of the Lake University (TX), Purdue University Northwest (IN), Simpson University (CA), and Westcliff University (CA) are slated to be in attendance.

The International Flag League (formerly USA Flag) will host its 2027 National Championships in Tampa, Florida, on MLK weekend in January 2027. The dates are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, January 13, 2027, through Sunday, January 17, 2027.

The International Flag League (formerly USA Flag) will host its 2027 World Championships in Los Angeles, California, from Thursday, July 8, 2027, through Sunday, July 11, 2027. A collegiate division will be competing for the first time at the 2027 championships.
