Welcome to the August 11 edition of the women's flag football newsletter here at Collegiate Flag Football. This will cover news between Monday, August 4, and Sunday, August 10, 2025. 2 Additions This Week, 1 Potential Club Addition

El Camino College (CA) and Goldey-Beacom College (DE) will add varsity flag football beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. El Camino competes in the CCCAA (3C2A) and will have a club team for the 2025-26 academic year, while Goldey-Beacom is a member of the NCAA Division II CACC.

Syracuse University (NY) is hoping to add a women's flag football club team by the end of the 2025-26 academic year, according to a social media post.

2025-26 Scheduling News

The 2025-26 National Collegiate Flag Football League (NCFFL) registration is open. The NCFFL will host games in both the fall and spring seasons, with schools having the option to compete in either season or both. The spring 2026 campaign will feature a 10-game season, with playoffs and a championship in 2026.

UPDATED THIS WEEK: Relatedly, the NCFFL's Collegiate Flag Football Fall Classic will be held on Saturday, October 18, and Sunday, October 19, at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland. The Classic was previously scheduled for October 11 and October 12, but the NCFFL changed the dates. So far, the College of Staten Island (NY), Iona University (NY), Mercyhurst University (PA), St. Joseph's University (Brooklyn, NY), SUNY Cortland (NY), and Villa Maria College (NY) are committed to competing in the NCFFL's 2025-26 season.

The NCFFL's November Cup will be held on Saturday, November 8, and Sunday, November 9. The location is to be determined. The NCFFL also posted dates for its spring tournaments and championships, which are as follows:

The first spring tournament will take place on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, at Howard Community College (MD) in Columbia, Maryland. The second spring tournament will be two weeks later on Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, at Lancaster Bible College (PA) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Finally, the NCFFL National Championships will be held on Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3 in New Jersey. The exact location is TBD.

The IFFA has posted a survey for college teams regarding the College Flag Showdown for next season. Schools can inform the IFFA of the days they wish to participate, the total number of games, and the number of daily games they plan to play at the tournament. The 2026 College Flag Showdown is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, through Saturday, March 7.

The Southern Women's Collegiate Flag Football Alliance (SWCFFA) is looking for additional teams to participate during the 2025-26 academic year. The SWCFFA recently announced that five NCAA Division I club teams will compete.

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Virginia's club team posted its fall schedule. The recently formed SWCFFA will take center stage with game days on Saturday, September 27, and Saturday, October 11. The Cavaliers will travel to the University of Delaware for a tournament on Saturday, October 18, and Sunday, October 19. The NIRSA tournament will take place from Friday, November 7, through Sunday, November 9, while Virginia's fall season will conclude with the SWCFFA Championship on Saturday, November 15.

CIAA Sets 2026 Flag Football Championship Dates

The NCAA Division II Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) has set the dates for the 2026 Flag Football Championship. For the second season in a row, Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina, will host the championship. JCSU will welcome teams to Charlotte on Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, 2026. Winston-Salem State (NC) won the inaugural tournament in 2025, defeating Fayetteville State (NC) 9-6.

Coaching News

Albright College (PA) is seeking a head flag football coach. The college announced the addition of flag football in late June.

Allegheny College (PA) is seeking a head coach for the newly added club flag football team. Allegheny will play as a club team in spring 2026 and become a varsity team in 2027.

Bethany College (WV) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. The job will also require the person to be an assistant football coach for the men's team.

NEW THIS WEEK: Bryant & Stratton College (Albany, NY) hired Alaina Lange as the program's first head coach. Lange helped coach the Catholic Central High School to a 2025 NYS Section II Class C title.

Caldwell University (NJ) has posted an opening for a part-time women's flag football head coach. Caldwell hasn't made an official announcement that it will sponsor flag football.

NEW THIS WEEK: Clemson University (SC) is seeking coaching staff to help the club team out for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year. Those interested can fill out the Google Form here.

The College of Saint Mary (NE) will partner with Bechler Leadership in its search for a head coach. All questions and application materials (cover letter, resume, and 4 references) should be sent to search@bechlerleadership.com. Saint Mary will begin competition during the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Hartwick College (NY) is seeking a part-time assistant flag football coach for the 2025-26 academic year. Hartwick will play its first season in spring 2026.

Iona University (NY) is looking for a part-time head coach for the women's flag football team. Iona will compete as a club team beginning with the 2026 spring season.

NEW THIS WEEK: Meredith College (NC) named Bryonne Herring as the program's first head coach. Herring was previously the head coach of SUNY Brockport's (NY) club flag football team. Meredith will begin competing during the 2027 spring season.

NEW THIS WEEK: Northwestern Ohio (OH) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. UNOH will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.

Penn State Harrisburg (PA) posted a job description for its women's flag football head coaching role. The school previously announced Drew Scales as the head coach in March.

Penn State Schuylkill (PA) is seeking a part-time defensive coordinator. The Nittany Lions will compete in the NCAA Division III Atlantic East Conference in the 2026 spring season.

Radford University (VA) has posted the job description for the women's flag football club team. Radford announced the addition of a club team beginning with the 2025-26 academic year in May.

Saint Joseph's University (PA) has posted an opening for the head coaching position of a women's flag football club team.

Saint Vincent College (PA) is seeking a flag football head coach. The college posted a job description for the head coaching vacancy. SVC currently sponsors flag football at the club level.

Thomas University (GA) has an opening for its head coaching role after the departure of Chelsea Parmer earlier this month. The official posting can be found here.

The University of Toronto (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is hiring coaches for the 2025-26 season. Those interested can reach out to the team via social media. The deadline to fill out the interest form is Sunday, August 17.

The University of Waterloo (Waterloo, Ontario, Canada) is hiring coaches for the 2025 fall season. Those interested can fill out the form here. The deadline to apply is Monday, August 11.

NEW THIS WEEK: Virginia Wesleyan University named Jamaar Hawkins as the program's first head coach. VWU will compete as an independent for the 2026 spring season in NCAA Division III.

Westminster College (MO) has posted a job description for a women's flag football head coaching position. Westminster will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.

D'Youville's Head Coach Featured at Halftime of Bills-Giants Game

D'Youville University (NY) flag football head coach Jeff Weiss and the Orchard Park High School flag football team took part in a scrimmage at halftime of the Buffalo Bills-New York Giants preseason game on Saturday. D'Youville is an NCAA Division II program and will play its first season in the spring of 2026.

WNY Flash (NY) will host a wide receiver training camp on Tuesday, August 12, from 6 PM to 8 PM. The camp will take place in Elma, New York. Head coaches from D'Youville University (NY), SUNY Geneseo (NY), and Villa Maria (NY) will be in attendance.

NEW THIS WEEK: Missouri Western State University (MO) will host a women's football clinic on Friday, August 15, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. The clinic will be held on campus at the Spratt Stadium Complex.

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Toronto (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) will host a developmental boot camp on Saturday, August 16, from 6 to 8 PM. The camp will be held at Thomson Memorial Park.

Laurentian University (Canada) will host a flag football ID camp on Sunday, August 17, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The camp will be held at the James Jerome Sports Complex in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

William Woods University (MO) and Illinois College will be attending the Push The Limit Girls Flag Football showcase on Sunday, August 17. The showcase will take place from 9 AM to 4 PM in Wentzville, Missouri.

Life University (GA) will host a summer showcase on Saturday, August 23 from 4 to 6 PM. The showcase will take place on campus as the Life U Upper Field in Marietta, Georgia, and is open to 2026 and 2027 high school graduates.

NEW THIS WEEK: The College of Staten Island (NY) will host a two-day flag football clinic on Saturday, August 30, and Sunday, August 31. The clinic will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM each day on CSI's campus.

USA Football's Superflag Invitation will take place on Saturday, August 30 through September 1, in Fort Worth, Texas. The 5-on-5 tournament will have multiple divisions and is invite-only. More information can be found here, including how to request an invitation.

Cedar Crest College (PA) will host a flag football clinic on Saturday, September 13 from 9 AM to 2 PM. The clinic will take place on campus in Allentown, Pennsylvania

NEW THIS WEEK: Keiser University (FL) will host the 2025 Seahawk Invitational on Saturday, September 20, and Sunday, September 21. The invitational is for official high school-sanctioned flag football teams and will be held at Samuel Friedland Park in Loxahatchee, Florida.

PRP (KY) is hosting a girls flag football college exposure camp on Saturday, September 20. The camp will take place from 11 AM to 3:30 PM at PRP High School in Louisville, Kentucky.

NEW THIS WEEK: Keiser University (FL) will host a pair of girls flag football clinics in October and November. The first will take place on Sunday, October 12, while the second will take place on Sunday, November 9. Both clinics will run from 9 AM to 11 AM and be held at the KU multi-purpose field.

Norco College (CA) will host a showcase camp on Saturday, December 6, from 11 AM to 2 PM. The camp will be attended by Arizona Christian (AZ), Aurora (IL), Benedictine Mesa (AZ), Golden West (CA), Hope International (CA), La Sierra (CA), Ottawa (AZ), and Simpson (CA).

Villa Maria College (NY) will have a women's flag football camp & showcase on Saturday, February 14, 2026, which will feature US Women's National Team member Izzy Geraci. The camp will take place from 12 PM to 2:30 PM at Villa Maria's athletic center in Buffalo, New York.

IFFA Launches Recruiting Platform

The International Flag Football Association (IFFA) has launched a free recruiting platform for athletes and coaches. Players can create profiles and upload information, including game footage, for coaches to review and assess. Athletes can learn more here, while coaches can review the benefits of the database here.

MaxPreps Names Top 100 Flag Football Players

MaxPreps dropped a list of 100 flag football players to watch during the 2025-26 school year. The list includes players who will graduate from high school in 2026, 2027, and 2028. Quarterbacks were named in four of the top six spots, but the wide receivers and defensive backs dominated the rest of the top 25. The full list can be found here.

NFL Flag, Pop Warner Partner Up

NFL Flag and Pop Warner will partner up to provide expanded access to flag football beginning this December. The Pop Warner Super Bowl will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, this year and will feature the Crown Classic Flag Football Tournament. Local leagues will see the partnership beginning in spring 2026.

Washington Commanders Make Sizable Flag Football Investment

The NFL's Washington Commanders are committing more than $1 million to help grow the sport of flag football. The Commanders held clinics earlier this year throughout the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. Now, the team will up the ante by providing direct funding, equipment, and instructional materials to schools throughout the DMV. 127 high school teams compete in Washington's area. The news comes shortly after the Baltimore Ravens announced the team would provide additional funding for schools in the vicinity.

Vanita Krouch Makes "Stars to Watch" List

US Women's National Flag Football team player Vanita Krouch made the Olympics "Five stars to watch in Chengdu" list. Krouch is the quarterback of the US Women's National team and has won 3 IFAF World Championships, one IFAF Americas Championship, and a silver medal in the 2022 World Games.
