Additions This Week
Manor College (PA) will add flag football for next season. The school competes in the USCAA and will name a head coach at a later date.
2025 College Champions Crowned
Florida Gateway College won the 2025 NJCAA Flag Football Championship with an overwhelming first half performance against Daytona State College (FL). Ottawa (KS) won its fifth straight NAIA Flag Football Championship with a strong defensive effort in the second half against Keiser (FL). More from all three games on Championship Thursday here. Congrats to both programs for winning the title and all teams who competed this year, as the sport looks set to grow exponentially next year!
2025-26 Scheduling Openings
It's never too early to think about the schedules for next season. The National Collegiate Flag Football League (NCFFL) has its 2025-26 interest form available. The NCFFL is looking to fill both fall and spring tournaments. The spring 2026 campaign will feature a 10-game season, with playoffs and a championship in 2026. Schools can fill out the interest form here. The College of Staten Island (NY) won the 2025 NCFFL Championship this spring.
Purdue Northwest (IN) is looking for opponents during the 2026 season. The school is willing to play in Jamborees and mini-tournaments within a 3-hour radius of the Hammond, Indiana area.
Atlantic East Flag Football Featured
SB Nation's Mitchell Northam profiled the Atlantic East Conference's title game from late April. Northam detailed how the sport came to be for the conference by speaking to coaches, players, and the interim conference commissioner. The full story can be found here.
Coaching News
Albany (NY) is looking for coaches to help the flag football club team next season. Those interested can send a message via Instagram.
Cedar Crest College (PA) is looking for a graduate assistant coach for its women's flag football team next year.
Chowan (NC) named Sherry Lewis as the program's first flag football head coach. Lewis is a former Chowan athlete and graduate. She was recently part of the women's basketball coaching staff at Richard Bland College. Chowan will play in the Conference Carolinas starting in the 2026 spring season.
Huntingdon College (AL) is looking for an assistant coach for the flag football team. Those interested should send a cover letter, resume, and three references to head coach Angela Rowe.
Mercyhurst (PA) hired Zack Helsley as the first flag football head coach in program history. Helsley was a member of the Mercyhurst football team for six seasons, including the 2024 season as the school played in its first NCAA Division I football season.
Montclair State (NJ) has hired Don Sellari and Lindsey Cinque as assistant coaches. The Red Hawks announced Jim Kelly as their first head coach in April.
Point University (GA) named Shaka Long as the school's next flag football coach. Point went 3-13 in its inaugural season in 2024 and 6-10 in 2025.
Post University (CT) has named co-head coaches for the 2026 season. Dominic Colavita and Joseph Newman are set to lead the Eagles in their inaugural season next year.
Roberts Wesleyan University (NY) selected Paul Fricano as the first flag football head coach. Fricano is a former kicker for the Eastern Michigan Eagles. Roberts Wesleyan will begin competing during the 2026 spring season.
William Woods (MO) is looking for a graduate assistant to join the coaching staff starting in fall 2025. Those interested should reach out to head coach Charlie Holloway.
Final Top 25 for 2025
WomensCollegeFlagFootball.com released its final top 25 for the 2025 season. Ottawa (KS) maintained its top spot after winning the NAIA finals with runner-up Keiser (FL) in second. Thomas (GA), Kansas Wesleyan (KS), and Baker (KS) round out the top 5. Florida Gateway (FL) was 8th after winning the NJCAA finals, Marymount (VA) was the top NCAA team in 11th, and the College of Staten Island (NY) was 14th after winning the NCFFL. Future Camps and Clinics
Simpson University (CA) is hosting a women's flag football prospect camp from 9 AM to 11 AM on Saturday, May 17. The camp will be held at Del Campo High School in Sacramento, California. Simpson will be offering scholarships to the top performers at the camp.
In conjunction with the Chicago Bears, the Rockford Park District (Illinois) is hosting a flag football camp on Saturday, May 17, from 10 AM to 12 PM. Sign up is free, and the camp will feature various workouts, drills, and skills tests.
From Reinhardt University's social media account: there will be several Flag Football Skills challenges hosted in May at the following cities in Atlanta, LaGrange, and Macon, Georgia.
Texas Wesleyan (TX) will host a skills and development clinic on Saturday, May 31. There will be two sessions: one from 9 AM to 12 PM, and a second one from 4 PM to 9 PM.
OC Sports Fundamentals will host its "Showcase in the Hills" on Sunday, June 1. The showcase will take place at Canyon High School in Anaheim, California. Representatives from Alabama State (AL), Benedictine Mesa (AZ), Cypress College (CA), Hope International (CA), Irvine Valley (CA), Ottawa (AZ), Redlands (CA), and Saddleback College (CA) will be in attendance.
Neumann University (PA) will host a girls flag football league on Tuesdays and Thursdays during June. The league will begin on Tuesday, June 3 and end on Thursday, June 30. The league will cost $100 and will be run by Neumann's flag football coaching staff.
Bruce Mapp will host a College ID Camp in McKinney, Texas, on Saturday, June 14. The "Put HER on the Mapp" camp will provide drills, coaching, scouting, and training sessions. Arizona Christian (AZ), Baker (KS), Concordia (TX), Keiser (FL), Texas Wesleyan (TX), and Saint Mary (KS) will be attending the camp.
St. Joseph's University Brooklyn (NY) will host a flag football skills showcase on Saturday, June 14. The showcase will be held at Our Lady of Grace Field in Brooklyn, New York, from 9 AM to 12:30 PM.
Southern Utah University is hosting its first girls' flag football tournament on Monday, June 16, and Tuesday, June 17, as part of the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games (USG). The tournament will partner with the Las Vegas Raiders and will be split into high school varsity, junior varsity, and middle school, with registration ending on Monday, May 26. College coaches are welcome to attend and those interested can send an email to usg@suu.edu.
Eastern University (PA) will be the site of a football skills development camp from Monday, June 16, through Thursday, June 19. This is a coed camp that will focus on offensive and defensive skills for kids ages 9 through 14. The camp will be held in Wayne, Pennsylvania.
The University of Kansas is hosting a girls flag football camp on Tuesday, June 17, from 12:45 PM through 3 PM. The camp will be held at the Kansas Football Indoor Practice Facility and the corresponding practice fields in Lawrence, Kansas.
Warner University (FL) and Webber International (FL) will host a Girls Flag Football camp from Wednesday, June 18, through Friday, June 20.
The University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, will host the Nike BallHER flag football camp from June 24 to June 26, 2025. Baker (KS), Mars Hill (NC), and Ottawa (KS) will also have representatives in attendance.
Millersville University (PA) is hosting a camp from June 26 through 29, 2025, as noted by Cedar Crest College (PA) in nearby Allentown.
Holy Family University (PA) will host two summer camps in June and July. The first camp will be held on Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29. The second camp will be held on Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13.
Lindsey Wilson University (KY) will host a flag football showcase on Saturday, July 12. The showcase will be held at Mercy Academy in Louisville, Kentucky, from 6 PM to 8 PM. Those interested can fill out a Google Form.
Campbellsville University (KY) will have a flag football showcase on Saturday, July 19. The showcase will take place at Finley Stadium on the campus of Campbellsville University from 4 PM to 7 PM.
High School Flag Football Rules Changes Coming Soon
The Los Angeles Times looked at the different styles of play in high school flag football across the country. Benjamin Royer wrote that the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) will roll out a standardized rule book for the sport, which will require some states (and schools) to make adjustments. The rule book is expected to be published later this month. Given the explosion in popularity of flag football at the high school level, it will be worth watching how the rule changes will impact the collegiate level as more teams participate and the sport develops, in the rule book and on the field.
KCAC Yearly Awards
The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) unveiled its yearly awards and all-conference selections. Kansas Wesleyan and Ottawa (KS) dominated the first team choices. Ottawa had 9 first-teamers, Kansas Wesleyan had 6, Baker (KS) had 2, and Midland (NE) and Southwestern (KS) each had one. USA Football Summer Series
USA Football will host a series of flag football tournaments featuring athletes from around the world from June 20 through June 22. USA's 15U and 17U teams will compete in the Junior International Cup on all three days against Australia, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, and South Korea. The Select Bowl will be held June 20-21 and feature 12U through 23U teams. Finally, there's the International Bowl featuring the US Men's and Women's National teams playing against Australia, Canada, Germany, Israel, and Japan. All games will take place at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles, California.
