Welcome to the December 15 edition of the women's college flag football newsletter here at Collegiate Flag Football. We will look at the various stories and happenings across the sport over the last week, between Monday, December 8, and Sunday, December 14, 2025. 5 Additions This Week, 1 New Conference, 1 League Change

Cal, Georgia Tech, and UCLA added women's flag football club teams and will compete during the 2026 spring season. Meanwhile, Long Beach State (CA) added men's and women's flag football club teams, while also planning to compete in spring 2026.

Stillman College (AL) will add women's flag football beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. Stillman is the first member of the NAIA's HBCU Athletic Conference to add a varsity team and the second overall to establish a flag football program.

The NAIA's Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) will begin sponsoring women's flag football in the 2026-27 academic year. The SSAC's first championship will be held from Thursday, April 22, through Saturday, April 24. The SSAC will have 9 members in the first season.

Wagner College (NY) will join the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for the spring 2026 season. Wagner is one of 11 schools scheduled to compete in the ECAC next semester.

2025-26 Scheduling News

Cal Poly (CA) will host its first spring tournament on Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, 2026. The tournament is open to any school that wishes to participate and it will be held on campus in San Luis Obispo, California. Any collegiate flag football program interested in competing at Cal Poly's tournament should contact Ryan Weisenberg (rweisenb@calpoly[dot]edu).

The 2025-26 National Collegiate Flag Football League (NCFFL) spring 2026 campaign will feature a 10-game season, with playoffs and a championship in 2026. For current NCFFL members, there are still slots available for the Maryland Regional, Pennsylvania Regional, and National Championship. The deadline for those is Thursday, January 15, 2026. The NCFFL also posted the current list of participants for spring 2026. Dates for the spring tournaments and championships are as follows:

The first spring tournament will take place on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, at Howard Community College (MD) in Columbia, Maryland. The second spring tournament will take place two weeks later, on Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, at Lancaster Bible College (PA) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Finally, the NCFFL National Championships will be held on Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3, at the Capelli Sports Complex in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.

The NCFFL is looking for schools that would like to host a flag football tournament during the 2026-27 academic year. The NCFFL plans to have at least 8 events next season. For fall 2026, the aim is to have 2 East Coast and 1 West Coast tournaments. For spring 2027, the NCFFL is hoping to have 4 regionals in the Central and Eastern US, 2 in the Midwest and West Coast, and the National Championship. UPDATED THIS WEEK: The NCFFL updated the membership for the 2025-26 academic year, with over 20 schools participating. Both Bethany College (WV) and Bryant & Stratton College (Albany, NY) joined the NCFFL. The full list of NCFFL members for the academic year is provided below.

The Women's Collegiate Flag Football League (WCFFL) is looking for additional teams to compete during the 2025-26 academic year. The WCFFL will have tournaments in the spring. Those interested should contact Venisha Lee (wcflagfootball1@gmail[dot]com).

The Golden State Games will take place in Irvine, California, on MLK weekend from Friday, January 16, through Sunday, January 18, 2026. Although the Women's College Division has filled up, those interested in playing preseason games can join the waitlist.

NEW THIS WEEK: Arizona Christian University announced its inaugural schedule for spring 2026. The season will begin at Nevada State University on Thursday, February 19. The second game will be a home matchup against Baker University (KS) on Saturday, February 28. The conference schedule will start on Saturday, March 7, at Benedictine University Mesa (AZ), followed by a home matchup against Ottawa University (AZ) on Wednesday, March 11. The final non-conference matchup will be at home on Saturday, March 14, versus Nevada State.

The Firestorm will return to conference action with three games in Riverside, California, over two days. On Wednesday, March 18, ACU will take on Hope International University (CA) and Simpson University (CA), followed by a game against La Sierra University (CA) the next day. March ends with a game at Ottawa (AZ) on Tuesday, March 24, and a home matchup versus Benedictine Mesa (AZ) on Thursday, March 26.

April will see ACU play three games. On Wednesday, April 8, they'll take on Hope International (CA) and Simpson (CA). The regular season wraps up on Thursday, April 9, with a game against La Sierra (CA). The full schedule can also be found below.

NEW THIS WEEK: Benedictine University Mesa (AZ) revealed its 2026 spring schedule. The RedHawks will start the season on Saturday, February 28, at home against Baker University (KS). Next up will be a road game at Ottawa University (AZ) on Wednesday, March 4. There will be back-to-back home games on Saturday, March 7, against Arizona Christian University and Saturday, March 14, versus Ottawa (AZ).

The second half of March will see Mesa play La Sierra University (CA) and Hope International University (CA) on Wednesday, March 18, in California. The next day, the RedHawks will face Simpson University (CA). On Thursday, March 26, Benedictine Mesa will take on Arizona Christian, and end the month at home on Saturday, March 28, versus Nevada State University.

April will feature a trio of home games to wrap up the regular season. The RedHawks will host La Sierra (CA) and Hope International (CA) on Wednesday, April 8, followed by Simpson (CA) on Thursday, April 9. The full schedule is also listed below.

NEW THIS WEEK: Concordia University Texas announced its 2026 spring schedule. The season will begin with a quartet of games in February, starting with Community Christian College (TX) on Friday, February 20. Two days later, the Tornados will take on Cottey College (MO). There will be a doubleheader on Friday, February 27, against Texas Southern University and Texas Wesleyan University.

March will start with a home-and-home against Prairie View A&M University (TX). The Tornados will host PVAMU on Friday, March 6, before going to Prairie View on Saturday, March 21. Concordia has two additional games lined up for March 21, versus Arizona State University and Texas Southern. They will end March with a doubleheader at home versus Schreiner University (TX) and Community Christian College on Saturday, March 28.

The first game in April will be on Saturday, April 11, at Schreiner and will end with a tripleheader on Saturday, April 18. The Tornados will face Hendrix College (AR), Texas Wesleyan, and Prairie View A&M. The full schedule can also be found below.

NEW THIS WEEK: Graceland University (IA) set its 2026 spring schedule. The Yellowjackets will start the season on the road with games at Cumberland University (TN) on Thursday, March 5, and a doubleheader on Saturday, March 7, at Life University (GA) and Reinhardt University (GA). Graceland will have one more road game on Wednesday, March 11, against the University of Saint Mary (KS).

March will continue with home games on Saturday, March 14, against Ottawa University (KS) and Wednesday, March 18, versus William Woods University (MO). Graceland will then have a road trip to St. Francis, Indiana, to play against Campbellsville University (KY), Siena Heights University (MI), and the University of Saint Francis (IN) on Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21. The month will end with a home game against Cottey College (MO) on Wednesday, March 25.

April will begin with road games at Midland University (NE) on Wednesday, April 1, and Southwestern College (KS) on Saturday, April 4. There will be a series of home games starting on Monday, April 6, against Bethel College (KS), followed by a visit from Baker University (KS) on Wednesday, April 8. Graceland will host the Sting Tournament on Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, against Hesston College (KS), North Central Missouri College, and Maharishi University (IA). NEW THIS WEEK: Southwestern College (KS) unveiled its 2026 spring campaign. The season will start on Saturday, February 28, with a home game matchup against William Woods University (MO). March will begin with back-to-back road games at Hesston College (KS) on Wednesday, March 4, and Ottawa University (KS) on Saturday, March 7. Southwestern will face Cottey College (MO) at home on Tuesday, March 10, and play at Baker University (KS) on Saturday, March 14.

Mid-March will see a home contest versus Bethel College (KS) on Monday, March 16, followed by a road trip to Fort Wayne, Indiana, over the weekend. Southwestern will play Campbellsville University (KY) on Friday, March 20, and a doubleheader against the University of Saint Francis (IN) and the University of Siena Heights on Saturday, March 21. March ends with a pair of road games at Kansas Wesleyan University on Wedensday, March 25, and the University of Saint Mary (KS) on Saturday, March 28.

April will feature a quartet of games to close out the regular season. The Moundbuilders will welcome Graceland University (IA) on Saturday, April 4, and Midland University (NE) on Wednesday, April 8. The final two games will be in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday, April 17, against Texas Wesleyan University and Hendrix College (AR).

NEW THIS WEEK: Texas Wesleyan University announced its 2026 spring schedule. The Rams will make their flag football debut with a doubleheader on Friday, February 27, against Texas Southern University and Concordia University Texas. On March 7, TWU will take on Schreiner University (TX) and end March with a game at Prairie View A&M University on Friday, March 13.

After a one-month break, the Rams will be back in action on Sunday, April 12, with another doubleheader against Cottey College (MO) and Pratt Community College (KS). The following weekend will see Texas Wesleyan play four games in two days. On Friday, April 17, they will take on Southwestern University (KS) and Hendrix College (AR). NEW THIS WEEK: Andrew College (GA) head coach Derrick Lucas left for the same position at the University of Mount Olive (NC) in NCAA Division II.

NEW THIS WEEK: Anna Maria College (MA) named Bridget D'Amelio as the program's first head coach. D'Amelio coached Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, Massachusetts, to a 14-2 record. Anna Maria will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Aurora University (IL) posted a job description for a part-time assistant women's flag football coaching position.

Benedictine University (IL) posted a job description for a seasonal assistant coaching position.

Campbellsville University (KY) is seeking a part-time assistant flag football coach. The Tigers named Spencer McCown head coach in July 2025.

Cedar Crest College (PA) posted the job description for the flag football head coaching vacancy. Amanda Avvento was previously the head coach.

The College of Saint Benedict (MN) posted a job description for a women's flag football head coaching vacancy. CSB will begin competing as a club team during the 2025-26 academic year.

Greenville University (IL) posted a job description for a women's flag football head coaching position. Greenville hasn't made an official announcement about adding a flag football program.

Grossmont College (CA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role.

Guilford College (NC) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Guilford will begin playing flag football in the 2026-27 academic year.

Howard Payne University (TX) posted the job description for the women's flag football coaching vacancy. HPU will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.

Indiana Wesleyan University posted the head coaching job description for the newly formed flag football team. IWU will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Jacksonville University (FL) posted the job description for the women's flag football club team vacancy. Jacksonville will play its first season in spring 2026.

Lewis University (IL) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coach opening. Lewis will play its first season in the 2026-27 academic year.

Manhattan University (NY) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Manhattan has not made a formal announcement regarding the addition of a flag football program.

McPherson College (KS) is looking to fill its head coaching vacancy. Those interested can fill out the application here or contact Ed Loeb at loebe@mcpherson[dot]com. McPherson will begin playing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Mercy University (NY) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching opening. Mercy will begin competing in spring 2026.

NEW THIS WEEK: Missouri Valley College (MO) named Dillon Humphreys as the program's first head coach. Humphreys was part of All-Army Flag Football as a player and coach for nearly a decade. Missouri Valley will play its first season in the 2026-27 academic year.

Northwest Shoals Community College (AL) has posted the job description for the head coaching vacancy. The post was previously held by Jamie Jeffreys for the 2025 fall season.

St. John Fisher University (NY) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role. SJFU will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Triton College (IL) named Scott Smith as the program's inaugural head coach. Triton will play its first season in spring 2026.

Union College (NY) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Union will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

The University of Bridgeport (CT) posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Bridgeport will play its season in the 2026-27 academic year.

The University of Illinois Springfield posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role. UIS will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Mount Olive (NC) named Derrick Lucas as the program's flag football head coach. Lucas previously served as the head coach at Andrew College (GA) for the 2025 spring season, leading the team to a 5-2 overall record.

The University of North Alabama posted the job description for the women's flag football head coach opening. The Lions will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Future Camps and Clinics

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Guelph (Guelph, Ontario, Canada) will host a women's flag football development camp on Saturday, December 27, 2025. The camp will be for 5 v 5 development and take place from 8:30 to 1:30 AM at the University of Guelph Field House. The camp is limited to 100 participants.

USA Flag will host the 2026 World Championships from Wednesday, January 14, through Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Tampa, Florida. The deadline to secure a spot is Friday, October 10. Teams can still register between October 11 and December 5, but will be placed on a waiting list.

The Golden States Games will take place from Friday, January 16, through Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Irvine, California. There will be divisions for nearly every age group, including a women's college flag division. Part of the Games will have a Prospect Showcase hosted by Cal Poly, and they will partner up with the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers.

Duke University (NC) will partner with Next Level Flag Football to host a 7-week season from Sunday, January 18, 2026, through Sunday, March 1, 2026. The league is coed and open to local students in first through sixth grades.

NEW THIS WEEK: Prairie View A&M University (TX) and Nike will host a winter flag football mega camp on Sunday, January 25, 2026. The camp will be held from 1 PM to 5 PM at the Panther Stadium in Prairie View, Texas. Colleges that will be in attendance include Cottey (MO), Florida Memorial, Grand Canyon (AZ), Hesston (KS), Kansas Wesleyan, LaGrange (GA), Point (GA), Southwestern (KS), St. Thomas (FL), and Webber International (FL).

The Heritage Girls Flag Bowl will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in San Diego, California. The Flag Bowl is open to junior and senior high school students. Players interested in participating can register here, with coaches from the two teams evaluating and ranking players to provide an opportunity to be drafted to play in the Heritage Bowl. The registration deadline is Saturday, October 25, and players will be drafted on Saturday, November 1. Players participating in the Flag Bowl will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to San Diego.

The Houston Texans will host a girls flag football college showcase on Saturday, January 31, 2026. The showcase will be held at the Houston Methodist Training Center in Houston, Texas. The registration form can be found here.

NEW THIS WEEK: The Indianapolis Colts will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Westfield, Indiana. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The deadline to register is Friday, January 23, 2026.

NEW THIS WEEK: The Miami Dolphins will host an adult Talent ID Camp on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Miami Gardens, Florida. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The deadline to register is Friday, January 30, 2026.

Villa Maria College (NY) will have a women's flag football camp & showcase on Saturday, February 14, 2026, which will feature US Women's National Team member Izzy Geraci. The camp will take place from 12 PM to 2:30 PM at Villa Maria's athletic center in Buffalo, New York.

NEW THIS WEEK: The Jacksonville Jaguars will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The deadline to register is Friday, February 6, 2026.

NEW THIS WEEK: SCAD Savannah (GA) is hosting a women's flag football prospect camp on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. The camp will take place after the SCAD Day events from 9 AM to 2 PM. The camp will be held at the SCAD Athletics Complex, located just across the Georgia-South Carolina border in Hardeeville, South Carolina.

NEW THIS WEEK: The Seattle Seahawks will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in Renton, Washington. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The deadline to register is Friday, February 13, 2026.

Millersville University (PA) will host its 2nd annual girls flag football camp from Wednesday, June 24, through Sunday, June 28, 2026. The camp will feature two-a-day practices, film review, evaluations, guest speakers, and strength and conditioning.

Meredith College Hosts Successful Camp

Meredith College (NC) hosted a successful flag football camp this fall, with over 30 athletes participating. Meredith will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year, but the school wanted to start the building process a year in advance under head coach Bryonne Herring. Like many schools around the country, Meredith's flag football camp allowed players to showcase their talents while providing a scouting opportunity for coaches.

NFL Authorizes Pro Flag Football League Investments

The NFL is closer to launching a professional flag football league. NFL owners authorized the NFL to invest as much as $32 million and partner with an operator to run the league. No additional details were provided, but the NFL previously said it wanted to launch before the 2028 Olympics.

SCAD Head Coach Cristian Orth Chats With CFF

SCAD Savannah (GA) head coach Cristian Orth recently took some time to chat with Collegiate Flag Football about the school's program. Orth talks about his background, how it will help him as a new coach, his vision for success in the first years as a new member of the NAIA's Sun Conference, and how SCAD's academic offerings can be a recruiting boost. Two Concordia Texas Coaches to be on Staff at All-American Game, Chalil receives conference honor

The Concordia University Texas coaches Keenan and Kaden Hughes have been selected to coach at the 2025 Women's Flag Football All-American U.S. Army Bowl. The pair will take part in the game's bowl week from Friday, December 19, through Sunday, December 21, which will include the All-American Flag Bowl on the 21st from 11 AM to 12 PM Central Time. Keenan Hughes serves as Concordia's head coach, while his son Kaden is an assistant coach.

One of Concordia's flag football athletes was honored by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). Sonya Chalil was selected as the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete of the Week. The award is given to student-athletes who excel in athletics and also serve their community.
