Welcome to the December 22 edition of the women's college flag football newsletter here at Collegiate Flag Football. We will look at the various stories and happenings across the sport over the last week, between Monday, December 15, and Sunday, December 21, 2025. 4 Additions This Week, 1 New Conference

Baldwin Wallace University (OH) will add a varsity women's flag football team for the 2026-27 academic year. Baldwin Wallace is the first school from the NCAA Division III Ohio Athletic Conference to add a varsity program and the second overall.

Newberry College (SC) will add a varsity women's flag football program and begin competing in the upcoming 2026 spring season. Newberry is the third school from the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Conference to add a varsity team.

The University of Arizona and the University of Southern California will be adding women's flag football club teams. USC will compete in spring 2026, while Arizona will become an official club at the school beginning with the 2026-27 academic year.

The Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) will sponsor flag football beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. The HAAC will host its first championship in spring 2027 and currently has six members lined up for the inaugural season.

2025-26 Scheduling News

Cal Poly (CA) will host its first spring tournament on Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, 2026. The tournament is open to any school that wishes to participate and it will be held on campus in San Luis Obispo, California. Any collegiate flag football program interested in competing at Cal Poly's tournament should contact Ryan Weisenberg (rweisenb@calpoly[dot]edu).

The National Collegiate Flag Football League (NCFFL) spring 2026 campaign will feature a 10-game season, with playoffs and a championship. For current NCFFL members, there are still slots available for the Maryland Regional, Pennsylvania Regional, and National Championship. The deadline for those is Thursday, January 15, 2026. The NCFFL also posted the current list of participants for spring 2026. Dates for the spring tournaments and championships are as follows:

The first spring tournament will take place on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, at Howard Community College (MD) in Columbia, Maryland. The second spring tournament will take place two weeks later, on Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, at Lancaster Bible College (PA) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Finally, the NCFFL National Championships will be held on Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3, at the Capelli Sports Complex in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.

The NCFFL is looking for schools that would like to host a flag football tournament during the 2026-27 academic year. The NCFFL plans to have at least 8 events next season. For fall 2026, the aim is to have 2 East Coast and 1 West Coast tournaments. For spring 2027, the NCFFL is hoping to have 4 regionals in the Central and Eastern US, 2 in the Midwest and West Coast, and the National Championship. The NCFFL updated the membership for the 2025-26 academic year, with over 20 schools participating. The full list of NCFFL members for the academic year is provided below.

The Women's Collegiate Flag Football League (WCFFL) is looking for additional teams to compete during the 2025-26 academic year. The WCFFL will have tournaments in the spring. Those interested should contact Venisha Lee (wcflagfootball1@gmail[dot]com).

The Golden State Games will take place in Irvine, California, on MLK weekend from Friday, January 16, through Sunday, January 18, 2026. Although the Women's College Division has filled up, those interested in playing preseason games can join the waitlist.

NEW THIS WEEK: Hope International University (CA) dropped its 2026 spring campaign. The season will start on Thursday, February 5, at home versus the University of Redlands (CA). The Royals will compete in the Cal Lutheran Tournament on Friday, February 13, and then play four games over the next five days.

On Tuesday, February 17, they'll play Warner University (FL), followed by Webber International University (FL) the next day. On Friday, February 20, HIU will play at Florida Memorial University, and then play at St. Thomas University (FL) on Saturday, February 21.

In March, they will host La Sierra University (CA) on Saturday, March 7, and host Simpson University (CA) on Tuesday, March 10. Next up will be a three-game stretch against Arizona schools, with La Sierra hosting the mini jamboree. HIU will face Arizona Christian University and Benedictine University Mesa (AZ) on Wednesday, March 18, and then play Ottawa University (AZ) on Thursday, March 19.

March will end with games against La Sierra (CA) on Friday, March 27, and Simpson University (CA) on Saturday, March 28. The regular season will conclude with games against Arizona Christian and Benedictine Mesa (AZ) on Wednesday, April 8, followed by a game at Ottawa (AZ) on Thursday, April 9.

NEW THIS WEEK: Marian University (WI) released its 2026 spring schedule. The Sabres will begin with a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 11, versus North Park University (IL) and Aurora University (IL). On Saturday, March 14, they'll welcome Purdue University Northwest (IN) to Fond du Lac. The March portion of the schedule will close with games against Illinois Wesleyan University and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Sunday, March 22.

In April, Marian will play at Purdue Northwest (IN) on Thursday, April 2. That will be followed by an away doubleheader on Saturday, April 4, against Aurora (IL) and North Park (IL). The Sabres will have another doubleheader on Thursday, April 9, at home versus Rockford University (IL) and UW-Oshkosh (WI). On Thursday, April 16, the Sabres will be on the road for a pair of games against Aurora (IL) and Benedictine University (IL). The regular season will end on Sunday, April 19, with a pair of games in Illinois against Illinois Wesleyan and Rockford (IL).

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Saint Francis (IN) posted its 2026 spring schedule. The Lady Cougars will begin the season versus Siena Heights University (MI) on Saturday, February 21. The next set of games will take place in Tampa, Florida, from Thursday, March 5, through Saturday, March 7, as part of The Highest Level Showdown. The Florida trip will continue on Monday, March 9, with a game at Webber International University (FL), followed by a game at Warner University (FL) on Tuesday, March 10.

The schedule will shift back to Indiana on Friday, March 20, with a pair of home games against Graceland University (IA) and Southwestern College (KS). A home doubleheader will take place the following day on Saturday, March 21, against Campbellsville University (KY) and Midland University (NE). March will end with a trifecta of games, starting on Friday, March 27, against Campbellsville (KY) and Life University (GA). Saint Francis will play against Cumberland University (TN) on Saturday, March 28, to end the month.

The regular season will close in April with three games in Michigan on Saturday, April 18. The Lady Cougars will face Cumberland (TN), Siena Heights (MI), and Wittenberg (OH).

NEW THIS WEEK: Siena Heights University (MI) revealed its 2026 spring schedule. The Saints will start versus the University of Saint Francis (IN) on Saturday, February 21, and then play in the IFFA's tournament from Wednesday, March 4, through Friday, March 6. They'll face Warner University (FL) on Monday, March 9, and end the Florida swing on Tuesday, March 10, at Webber International University (FL).

After a short break, Siena Heights will return with a triple-header on Saturday, March 21, versus Graceland University (IA), Midland University (NE), and Southwestern College (KS). They will then play in the Flag Frenzy at Campbellsville University on Friday, March 27. The Saints will take on Campbellsville (KY) and Lindsey Wilson University (KY) on Friday, followed by a pair of games against Cumberland University (TN) and Wittenberg University (OH) the next day.

In April, Siena Heights will take part in the NCFFL's Pennsylvania Regional on Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11. They'll wrap up the regular season with a quartet of games the following weekend. On Friday, April 17, the Saints will face Purdue University Northwest (IN) and Ursuline College (OH). Saturday, April 18, will feature the final two home games against Saint Francis (IN) and Heidelberg University (OH)

Aurora University (IL) posted a job description for a part-time assistant women's flag football coaching position.

Benedictine University (IL) posted a job description for a seasonal assistant coaching position.

Campbellsville University (KY) is seeking a part-time assistant flag football coach. The Tigers named Spencer McCown head coach in July 2025.

Cedar Crest College (PA) posted the job description for the flag football head coaching vacancy. Amanda Avvento was previously the head coach.

The College of Saint Benedict (MN) posted a job description for a women's flag football head coaching vacancy. CSB will begin competing as a club team during the 2025-26 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: El Camino College (CA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. The deadline is Monday, January 5. ECC is planning have a club team for spring 2026 and become a varsity program in 2027.

Greenville University (IL) posted a job description for a women's flag football head coaching position. Greenville hasn't made an official announcement about adding a flag football program.

Grossmont College (CA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role.

Guilford College (NC) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Guilford will begin playing flag football in the 2026-27 academic year.

Hardin-Simmons University (TX) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role. HSU will begin playing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Hastings College (NE) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Hastings will begin playing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Howard Payne University (TX) posted the job description for the women's flag football coaching vacancy. HPU will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.

Indiana Wesleyan University posted the head coaching job description for the newly formed flag football team. IWU will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.

Jacksonville University (FL) posted the job description for the women's flag football club team vacancy. Jacksonville will play its first season in spring 2026.

Lewis University (IL) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coach opening. Lewis will play its first season in the 2026-27 academic year.

Manhattan University (NY) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Manhattan has not made a formal announcement regarding the addition of a flag football program.

NEW THIS WEEK: McMurry University (TX) named Leo Brownfield IV as the first head coach in program history. Brownfield also serves as the running backs coach for the men's tackle football team. McMurry will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year, alongside the five other American Southwest Conference members.

McPherson College (KS) is looking to fill its head coaching vacancy. Those interested can fill out the application here or contact Ed Loeb at loebe@mcpherson[dot]com. McPherson will begin playing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Mercy University (NY) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching opening. Mercy will begin competing in spring 2026.

NEW THIS WEEK: Newberry College (SC) posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching opening. Newberry will begin competing in spring 2026.

Northwest Shoals Community College (AL) has posted the job description for the head coaching vacancy. Jamie Jeffreys previously held the position for the 2025 fall season.

St. John Fisher University (NY) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role. SJFU will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Union College (NY) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Union will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

The University of Bridgeport (CT) posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Bridgeport will play its season in the 2026-27 academic year.

The University of Illinois Springfield posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role. UIS will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

The University of North Alabama posted the job description for the women's flag football head coach opening. The Lions will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Northwestern Ohio announced Aaliyah Lockridge as the program's first head coach. Lockridge has coached in Gridiron Youth Flag Football since 2023 and plays in the Women's Football Alliance. The Racers will play their first season in spring 2027.

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Southern California is seeking a volunteer head coach for its women's flag football club team. The application deadline is Tuesday, December 30. USC will begin competing in spring 2026.

Future Camps and Clinics

The University of Guelph (Guelph, Ontario, Canada) will host a women's flag football development camp on Saturday, December 27, 2025. The camp will be for 5 v 5 development and take place from 8:30 to 1:30 AM at the University of Guelph Field House. The camp is limited to 100 participants.

NEW THIS WEEK: East Los Angeles College (CA) is hosting a women's flag football prospect showcase on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. The camp will start check-in at 5:15 PM and be held at the East LA College Stadium.

UPDATED THIS WEEK: The International Flag League (formerly USA Flag) will host the 2026 World Championships from Wednesday, January 14, through Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Tampa, Florida. The registration deadline closed on Friday, December 5, 2025.

NEW THIS WEEK: Benedictine University Mesa (AZ) will host a high school flag football showcase on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM. The showcase will take place on campus as the BENU PEC in Mesa, Arizona, and participants can register here.

The Golden States Games will take place from Friday, January 16, through Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Irvine, California. There will be divisions for nearly every age group, including a women's college flag division. Part of the Games will have a Prospect Showcase hosted by Cal Poly, and they will partner up with the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers.

Duke University (NC) will partner with Next Level Flag Football to host a 7-week season from Sunday, January 18, 2026, through Sunday, March 1, 2026. The league is coed and open to local students in first through sixth grades.

Prairie View A&M University (TX) and Nike will host a winter flag football mega camp on Sunday, January 25, 2026. The camp will be held from 1 PM to 5 PM at the Panther Stadium in Prairie View, Texas. Colleges that will be in attendance include Cottey (MO), Florida Memorial, Grand Canyon (AZ), Hesston (KS), Kansas Wesleyan, LaGrange (GA), Point (GA), Southwestern (KS), St. Thomas (FL), and Webber International (FL).

The Heritage Girls Flag Bowl will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in San Diego, California. The Flag Bowl is open to junior and senior high school students. Players interested in participating can register here, with coaches from the two teams evaluating and ranking players to provide an opportunity to be drafted to play in the Heritage Bowl. The registration deadline is Saturday, October 25, and players will be drafted on Saturday, November 1. Players participating in the Flag Bowl will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to San Diego.

The Houston Texans will host a girls flag football college showcase on Saturday, January 31, 2026. The showcase will be held at the Houston Methodist Training Center in Houston, Texas. The registration form can be found here.

The Indianapolis Colts will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Westfield, Indiana. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, January 23, 2026.

The Miami Dolphins will host an adult Talent ID Camp on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Miami Gardens, Florida. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadlineis Friday, January 30, 2026.

Villa Maria College (NY) will have a women's flag football camp & showcase on Saturday, February 14, 2026, which will feature US Women's National Team member Izzy Geraci. The camp will take place from 12 PM to 2:30 PM at Villa Maria's athletic center in Buffalo, New York.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, February 6, 2026.

SCAD Savannah (GA) is hosting a women's flag football prospect camp on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. The camp will take place after the SCAD Day events from 9 AM to 2 PM. The camp will be held at the SCAD Athletics Complex, located just across the Georgia-South Carolina border in Hardeeville, South Carolina.

The Seattle Seahawks will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in Renton, Washington. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, February 13, 2026.

The New York Jets will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Florham Park, New Jersey. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, February 20, 2026.

The Philadelphia Eagles will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, February 27, 2026.

UPDATED THIS WEEK: The Arizona Cardinals will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the West Valley Sports Complex in Glendale, Arizona. The registration deadline is Monday, February 9, 2026.

The Dallas Cowboys will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Sunday, March 15, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, March 6, 2026.

Howard Community College (MD) will host a spring flag football league in the Spring of 2026. Games will be played each Sunday, starting March 22, 2026, and the league will conclude on June 14, 2026.

Niagara Youth Flag Football (Canada) will host an All-Girls University Camp on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 9 AM to 12 PM. The camp will take place at Youngs Sportsplex in Welland, Ontario, Canada. Canadian Universities Brock, Sheridan, and Western will be joined by Villa Maria College from the Buffalo, New York area.

UPDATED THIS WEEK: The San Francisco 49ers will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Morgan Hill, California. The registration deadline is Monday, February 16, 2026.

The Chicago Bears will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Bridgeview, Illinois. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, March 20, 2026.

Howard Community College (MD) will host a flag football scouting combine the weekend of Saturday, March 28, 2026, and Sunday, March 29, 2026. The NCFFL will host a national flag football scouting combine on the weekend of Saturday, May 2, 2026, and Sunday, May 3, 2026. The camp will take place in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, and is open to high school girls in grades 9 through 12. The camp coincides with the NCFFL's Nationals tournament the same weekend.

Millersville University (PA) will host its 2nd annual girls flag football camp from Wednesday, June 24, through Sunday, June 28, 2026. The camp will feature two-a-day practices, film review, evaluations, guest speakers, and strength and conditioning.

NEW THIS WEEK: The International Flag League (formerly USA Flag) will host its 2027 National Championships in Tampa, Florida, on MLK weekend in January 2027. The dates are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, January 13, 2027, through Sunday, January 17, 2027.

NEW THIS WEEK: The International Flag League (formerly USA Flag) will host its 2027 World Championships in Los Angeles, California, from Thursday, July 8, 2027, through Sunday, July 11, 2027. A collegiate division will be competing for the first time at the 2027 championships.

Georgia High School Champions Crowned

Five high school champions in Georgia were determined last week. In Division 1, Harris County shut out Washington County 32-0 to win its first state title. In Division 2, Greenbrier scored a late touchdown to defeat Jenkins 20-13 and win its third straight championship. Division 3 saw North Oconee cruise to a 31-6 victory over Whitewater to capture its first state championship.

The best games of the GHSA state championships were in Divisions 4 and 5. In Division 4, Blessed Trinity scored a game-tying touchdown as time expired to send the game into overtime. In double overtime, Blessed Trinity ran in the point after try to win 21-20 over Milton. The next day, Division 5 saw Pope score a touchdown with 5 seconds left in the game and convert the try to give them a 14-13 win over McEachern.

USA Flag Rebrands to International Flag League, Announces Future Tournaments

USA Flag rebranded to the International Flag League (IFLAG) and made a series of announcements regarding future tournaments. The organization will keep the IFLAG National Championship in Tampa, Florida, on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend each year. However, the IFLAG World Championships will move to Los Angeles, California, in 2027. The 2027 tournament will be hosted by Ontario Sports Empire and held from Thursday, July 8, through Sunday, July 11.

There was also news for collegiate programs. As part of the 2027 Flag Football World Championships in Los Angeles, IFLAG is putting on a "March Madness-style" collegiate division showcase. All varsity and club teams can participate

USA TODAY Names High School National Champion

USA TODAY unveiled its 2025 high school flag football national champion. Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama, claimed the top spot for the second straight year. Hamilton (Arizona), JSerra Catholic (California), Mountain Vista (Colorado), and Maine South (Illinois) rounded out the top five.
