NFL Flag Showcase at the Pro Bowl
The NFL Flag Girls High School Showcase took place ahead of the NFL's AFC vs NFC Pro Bowl, but it did not disappoint. The AFC girls scored on their opening drive and held on for a 7-6 win, with Ariana Akey leading the drive down the field. Akey's rush into the end zone on the point after would be the difference, as the NFC would score late in the first half. However, the NFC couldn't convert the point after and subsequent drives didn't threaten to score. Akey was named the AFC's MVP, while wide receiver Samaya Taylor-Jenkins was named the NFC's MVP for the game.

Sonoma State Could Add Flag Football if Athletics Return
Sonoma State University (CA) no longer has an athletics program, but that could change, and flag football may be in the school's future. The school hired a consulting firm to review the feasibility of bringing athletics back, with flag football cited as a possibility as soon as the 2028-29 academic year. The report outlined a 5-year plan with the two seasons of competition at the club level in 2028-29 and 2029-30, followed by a varsity team in 2030-31 and beyond. The first step for flag football to become a reality is to bring back its athletics program, which Sonoma State's president Michael Spagna hopes to accomplish by the start of the 2027-28 academic year.

US Men Defeat Mexico

The teams traded scores to make it 28-26 in favor of the US, when Isaiah Calhoun had a pick six to make it 35-26. That put the game out of reach even with a late Mexico TD.
