Welcome to the March 2 edition of the women's college flag football newsletter here at Collegiate Flag Football. We will look at the various stories and developments across the sport over the last week, between Monday, March 9, and Sunday, March 15, 2026. 4 Additions This Week, 1 New JV Program

Carson-Newman University (TN) will add a varsity women's flag football team beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. C-N is the fourth school from the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Conference to add flag football.

Cumberland University (TN) will add a junior varsity women's flag football team beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. The school has a varsity program competing in the NAIA in the 2026 spring season.

Saint Xavier University (IL) will add a varsity women's flag football program beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. SXU is the fourth school from the NAIA's Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) to add the sport.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth will add a women's flag football club team beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. UMass Dartmouth plans to elevate the program to varsity status in the 2027-28 academic year.

Wiley University (TX) will add a varsity women's flag football program beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. Wiley is the third school from the NAIA's HBCU Athletic Conference to add flag football.

2026 Season News

We've reached the midway point of March, and the season is continuing to build momentum. There were plenty of impactful games last week and some incredible performances. Read more about last week's action and some of the games lined up for this week here.

2026 Week 3 WCFF Top 25

The WomensCollegeFlagFootball.com top 25 is out for week three of the 2026 season. Warner (FL) remained in the top spot, followed by Milligan (TN), Kansas Wesleyan, Florida Gateway, and Ottawa (KS). Six new teams entered the poll this week, as many changes were afoot. The full top 25 is below; the methodologies are available here.

2026 Spring Scheduling News

Cal Poly (CA) will host its first spring tournament on Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, 2026. The tournament is open to any school that wishes to participate, and it will be held on campus in San Luis Obispo, California. Any collegiate flag football program interested in competing at Cal Poly's tournament should contact Ryan Weisenberg (rweisenb@calpoly[dot]edu).

NEW THIS WEEK: Elmira College (NY) released its schedule for this spring. Elmira starts the season on Thursday, March 18, versus Keystone (PA) and will end the regular season on Saturday, April 18, against SUNY Geneseo (NY). The full schedule is below.

Barry University (FL) posted a job description for the women's flag football team. Barry currently offers a club team, but will elevate the program to varsity status in the 2026-27 academic year.

Charleston Southern University (SC) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. CSU will begin competing in the 2027-28 academic year.

The College of Staten Island (NY) posted a job description for the women's flag football coaching vacancy. The team was previously led by Frank Jennaco, who went 7-0-1 in the spring 2025 season en route to winning the inaugural NCFFL Championship.

Elizabethtown College (PA) posted the application form for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Elizabethtown will begin competing during the 2027-28 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Gardner-Webb University (NC) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. GWU announced the addition of flag football in mid-February.

Graceland University (IA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Previous head coach Aaron Richardson is leaving to take the same position at Lewis University (IL).

The Guimond Vukovic Group (GVG) is offering postgraduate opportunities for athletes seeking a one-year master's degree in the United Kingdom. Scholarship opportunities are available for students with a GPA of 2.8 or higher. Athletes who wish to continue playing collegiate flag football, develop programs, build the sport internationally, or pursue coaching opportunities are encouraged to apply. GVG offers a free service to connect student-athletes with partner institutions in the U.K. The FAQ section on GVG's website provides additional information. This postgraduate opportunity is in the United Kingdom.

Hardin-Simmons University (TX) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching role. HSU will begin playing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Harrisburg Area Community College (PA) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. HACC competes in the NJCAA.

Howard Payne University (TX) posted the job description for the women's flag football coaching vacancy. HPU will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Indiana Wesleyan University posted the job description for an assistant women's flag football coaching vacancy. IWU will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Jackson State Community College (TN) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. JSCC will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Johnson C. Smith (NC) named Anika Harris as head coach of the flag football team. Harris has worked with NFL Flag league teams, Marvin Ridge High School, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. JCSU also named Danielle Frazier, Steve Clark, and Willie Gulley as assistant coaches.

Knox College (IL) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Knox will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Lancaster Bible College (PA) no longer lists Gracie Sareyka and Ryan Salmon as assistant coaches, according to the school's athletic staff directory.

NEW THIS WEEK: Los Angeles Harbor College (CA) posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching vacancy. The application closing date is Friday, March 20. LAHC will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year. Those interested should send a cover letter, resume, list three professional references, and provide unofficial transcripts to athletic director Leslie Trujillo (trujillc@lahc.edu).

Menlo College (CA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Menlo will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Midway University (KY) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Midway will now begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Mount Mary University (WI) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Mount Mary will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

NEW THIS WEEK: Olivet Nazarene University (IL) posted the job description for an assistant women's flag football coaching vacancy. ONU will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

Our Lady of the Lake University (TX) posted a job description for a flag football head coaching position. OLLU will begin playing in the 2026-27 academic year.

PennWest University, California (PA) posted a job description for the flag football head coaching position. PennWest previously named Noah Mitchell as the program's first head coach in May 2025.

NEW THIS WEEK: Roberts Wesleyan (NY) named Adrienne Cali as an assistant coach for the 2026 season.

Saint Xavier University (IL) posted a job description for a flag football head coaching vacancy. SXU will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

SCAD Savannah (GA) posted the job description for an assistant coach on the women's flag football staff. SCAD will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year and named Cristian Orth as head coach in November 2025.

NEW THIS WEEK: St. Joseph's University - Long Island (NY) named Julianna Knice as head coach of the women's flag football team. SJLI also named Adam DeWitt as an associate head coach.

Trenholm State Community College (AL) posted the job description for a women's flag football coaching vacancy. TSCC has not officially announced the start of a flag football program.

United States Sports University (AL) posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching vacancy. USSU hasn't officially announced a flag football program.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching vacancy. UMass Dartmouth hasn't officially announced a flag football program.

The University of Michigan is accepting applications for its women's flag football club team. The application deadline is Monday, March 16.

The University of South Carolina Upstate posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching opportunity. USC Upstate will launch a varsity team in the 2026-27 academic year.

Blackburn College (IL) will host a high school flag football clinic on Saturday, March 21, from 2 to 5 PM. The clinic will be held at the Blackburn Athletic Center in Carlinville, Illinois. The registration link is here.

Howard Community College (MD) will host a spring flag football league in the Spring of 2026. Games will be played each Sunday, starting March 22, 2026, and the league will conclude on June 14, 2026.

Niagara Youth Flag Football (Canada) will host an All-Girls University Camp on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 9 AM to 12 PM. The camp will take place at Youngs Sportsplex in Welland, Ontario, Canada. Canadian Universities Brock, Sheridan, and Western will be joined by Villa Maria College from the Buffalo, New York area.

The San Francisco 49ers will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Morgan Hill, California. The registration deadline is Monday, February 16, 2026.

NEW THIS WEEK: Lewis University (IL) will host a flag football prospect day preview on Friday, March 27, from 10:30 AM to 2 PM. The prospect day will include admissions sessions, a campus tour, lunch, academic sessions, and an athletic session. Interested athletes can register here.

The Chicago Bears will host a youth Talent ID Camp on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Bridgeview, Illinois. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, March 20, 2026.

Howard Community College (MD) will host a flag football scouting combine the weekend of Saturday, March 28, 2026, and Sunday, March 29, 2026. The camp will take place in Columbia, Maryland, and is open to high school girls in grades 9 through 12. The camp coincides with the NCFFL's Maryland Championship Series.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Clay County Parks in Middleburg, Florida. The registration deadline is Monday, March 9, 2026.

The University of Georgia will host a flag football camp on Saturday, March 28, from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. The camp is open to 9th through 12th graders and will take place at Maynard H. Jackson High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Those interested can register here.

Albright College (PA) is hosting a flag football skills camp on Saturday, April 4, at 4 PM on campus in Reading, Pennsylvania. The camp is open to students in 9th through 12th grade.

Jackson State Community College (TN) is hosting a flag football prospect showcase from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday, April 4. The showcase is open to athletes graduating from 2026 through 2029, as well as transfers. The showcase will take place on campus in Jackson, Tennessee.

Meredith College (NC) will host a flag football prospect camp on Saturday, April 4, for 9th through 12th graders. The camp will run from 10 AM to 12 PM and be held on campus at the flag football field in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Lancaster Bible College (PA) will host a flag football scouting combine on Friday, April 10, 2026, and Saturday, April 11, 2026. The camp will take place in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and is open to high school girls in grades 9 through 12. The camp coincides with the NCFFL's Pennsylvania Championship Series.

The Baltimore Ravens will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Western Regional Park in Cooksville, Maryland. The registration deadline is Monday, March 9, 2026.

The Kansas City Chiefs will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Paragon Star in Kansas City, Missouri. The registration deadline is Monday, March 9, 2026.

The University of Montana is hosting a flag football prospect camp on Saturday, April 11, in Missoula, Montana. The camp is open to high school girls ages 16 to 19.

Wildchild Athletics (MI) will host a girls flag football scholarship showcase on Saturday, April 11, in Livonia, Michigan. The showcase is open to middle school and high school athletes and will take place at the Trinity Sports Dome from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Those interested can register here.

NEW THIS WEEK: Guilford College (NC) will host a flag football prospect day on Saturday, April 18, from 1 to 5 PM. The camp is open to 9th through 12th graders an dwill be held on campus in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Carolina Panthers will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The registration deadline is Monday, March 16, 2026.

The Detroit Lions will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Tom Adams Field at Wayne State in Detroit, Michigan. The registration deadline is Monday, March 16, 2026.

Cal Lutheran University (CA) will host a girls flag football prospect camp on Saturday, April 25. The camp will include a campus tour at 9 AM, followed by the camp from 10 AM to 12 PM. The camp is open to athletes ages 11 to 17 and will take place on the campus's North Field in Thousand Oaks, California.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will host an NFL FLAG Spring Super Regional on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Montour Sports Center in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. The registration deadline is Monday, March 23, 2026.

The Atlanta Falcons will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Franklin Gateway in Marietta, Georgia. The registration deadline is Monday, March 30, 2026.

The Los Angeles Rams will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California. The registration deadline is Monday, March 30, 2026.

The NCFFL will host a national flag football scouting combine on the weekend of Saturday, May 2, 2026, and Sunday, May 3, 2026. The camp will take place in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, and is open to high school girls in grades 9 through 12. The camp coincides with the NCFFL's Nationals tournament the same weekend.

The Denver Broncos will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Aurora Sports Park in Aurora, Colorado. The registration deadline is Monday, April 6, 2026.

The Los Angeles Rams will host an adult Talent ID Camp on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Long Beach, California. The camp will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. The registration deadline is Friday, May 1, 2026.

The Minnesota Vikings will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at The Ponds Athletic Complex in Prior Lake, Minnesota. The registration deadline is Monday, April 6, 2026.

The Philadelphia Eagles will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at United Sports in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The registration deadline is Monday, April 6, 2026.

The Green Bay Packers will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Don Hutson Center & Ray Nitschke Field in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin. The registration deadline is Monday, April 27, 2026.

The New York Giants will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at West Orange High School in West Orange, New Jersey. The registration deadline is Monday, April 27, 2026.

She Plays (AZ) is hosting a girls flag football college showcase and combine on Sunday, May 31, 2026. The showcase will be held from 9 AM to 12 PM in Chandler, Arizona. Arizona Christian University, Benedictine University at Mesa (AZ), Chowan University (NC), Grossmont College (CA), Lourdes University (OH), Mars Hill University (NC), Meredith College (NC), North Park University (IL), SCAD Savannah (GA), University of Arizona, University of Northwestern Ohio, and University of Redlands (CA) are expected to be in attendance.

Calhoun Community College (AL) is hosting a pair of flag football camps at the start of June. On Monday, June 1, a camp will be held from 9 AM to 12 PM for 3rd through 8th graders. On Tuesday, June 2, a camp will be held from 9 AM to 3 PM for 9th through 12th graders.

Nike is hosting a girls flag football camp in Atlanta, Georgia, from Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5. The camp is open to ages 8 through 18 and will be held at the Lovett School in Atlanta.

Nike is hosting a coed flag football camp in Rockford, Illinois, from Wednesday, June 3, through Friday, June 5. The camp is open to ages 7 through 14, and will be held at Clarence Hicks Memorial Sports Park in Rockford. Illinois College head coach Mark Grounds will be one of the camp coaches.

The Cleveland Browns will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Euclid High School in Euclid, Ohio. The registration deadline is Monday, May 4, 2026.

The Seattle Seahawks will host an NFL FLAG Spring Regional on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Kasch Park in Everett, Washington. The registration deadline is Monday, May 4, 2026.

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh will host The Titan College Showcase on Saturday, June 13, 2026. More details will be posted at a later date.

Millersville University (PA) will host its 2nd annual girls flag football camp from Wednesday, June 24, through Sunday, June 28, 2026. The camp will feature two-a-day practices, film review, evaluations, guest speakers, and strength and conditioning.

The University of South Florida will host a girls flag football camp in collaboration with Nike, from Wednesday, June 26, through Friday, June 26. The camp is open for ages 11 through 14 and will be held daily from 9 AM to 1 PM. The camp will be held at Fowler Field in Tampa, Florida.

Missouri Valley College (MO) will host a girls flag football camp in collaboration with Nike, from Friday, June 26, through Sunday, June 28. The camp will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 PM on Friday, followed by 9 AM to 2 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The camp will be held in Marshall, Missouri.

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh will host a Queens of the Gridiron Camp on Friday, July 10, 2026. More details will be posted at a later date.

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh will host a She Plays Flag Camp on Saturday, July 11, 2026. More details will be posted at a later date.

NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh will host a No Flags Given Camp on Saturday, July 25, 2026. More details will be posted at a later date.

Run For The Legacy (MD) will host a girls flag football tournament from Wednesday, July 15, through Saturday, July 18, in Baltimore, Maryland. College coaches from across the US will attend the event, which will also include a coaches' clinic. The registration deadline is Sunday, May 31.

Mercyhurst University (PA) will host a women's flag football prospect camp on Friday, July 25, from 1 to 4 PM. The camp is open to incoming high school freshmen through seniors, and will be held on campus at Saxon Stadium in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The International Flag League (formerly USA Flag) will host its 2027 National Championships in Tampa, Florida, on MLK weekend in January 2027. The dates are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, January 13, 2027, through Sunday, January 17, 2027.

The International Flag League (formerly USA Flag) will host its 2027 World Championships in Los Angeles, California, from Thursday, July 8, 2027, through Sunday, July 11, 2027. A collegiate division will be competing for the first time at the 2027 championships.

Alabama State Excited for Fiesta Bowl Flag Football Classic

The Alabama State Hornets are still a month away from playing in the Fiesta Bowl Football Classic in Tempe, Arizona, but the school is relishing the invitation. ASU's athletic director, Dr. Jason Cable, and head coach, Tyrone Poole, spoke to the Montgomery Advertiser about the school's decision to add flag football, the sport overall, and why the Classic represents a good opportunity for the school. Both believe the sport can thrive and that participating in the Fiesta Bowl Classic will help the brand, while offering a chance to recruit on the West Coast.

CCSF May Add Flag Football

The City College of San Francisco (CA) is considering the addition of flag football for the 2026-27 academic year, according to the school's newspaper. CCSF currently offers flag football as a class, which has led to increased interest in offering an athletic team. CCSF is a member of the CCCAA's (3C2A) Coast Conference.

Kansas, Louisiana High School Flag Football Updates

The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) may make flag football a sanctioned sport. The state currently has a flag football pilot program, thanks to help from the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs. A vote is scheduled for April 2026 on whether to sanction flag football, with the timing of its addition to be confirmed at the same time.

Flag football is expanding in Louisiana, with 64 schools set to participate this spring. The New Orleans Saints noted that there were only 10 teams two years ago, with the sport spreading throughout the state to Baton Rouge, northern Louisiana, and southwestern Louisiana. The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) is in a pilot program for the sport for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years, and needs at least 80 schools to offer flag football before it can become a sanctioned sport. 17 states have sanctioned flag football at the high school level, with another 22 having pilot programs.

Mount St. Mary's Hosting Women in Sports Day

Mount St. Mary's University (MD) will host Women in Sports Day on Saturday, April 11. The women's lacrosse team will play first at noon, followed by the flag football team at 3 PM, with both games to take place on Under Armour Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.

Players of the Week

The NCAA Division III Atlantic East Conference named its Players of the Week, which both went to Eastern University (PA). Kira Green captured her second straight offensive award after throwing for 459 yards and 7 TDs in Eastern's two wins. Molly Schellpeper won the defensive honors thanks to the 5 interceptions and 4 flag pulls in the two shutouts.

In the NAIA's KCAC, it was Ottawa (KS) that came away with both Player of the Week awards. Alyssa Linkous won the offensive POTW, following her 13 catches for 181 yards and 3 TDs in two wins. Dejonice Parris won the defensive honors after recording 10 flag pulls, 3 tackles-for-loss, 2 sacks, and 2 pass breakups.

The NAIA's Sun Conference awarded its Players of the Week honors to a pair of Warner University (FL) teammates. On offense, Avalon-Lux Offerman received the award for her 40 catches, 414 yards, and 9 touchdown receptions. On defense, it was Ava Vincensini, who had 23 flag pulls, 4 interceptions, and one defensive TD. Warner went 4-0 last week and is 10-0 on the season.

USC Club Team Talks Origins and Goals

Alia Pasternak, the Founder and President of USC's women's flag football club team, and Maliya Patel, the co-founder and Vice President of the club, stopped by the Talkin' Troy podcast to discuss the team's history and future. Pasternak and Patel talked about their flag football journeys and how the club started, preparing for the Fiesta Bowl Flag Football Classic, helping other Big Ten club teams get started (and possibly a Big Ten club tournament in 2026-27), and the efforts to help grow the game at USC and beyond.
