1 Addition This Week, 1 Future Change
Andrew College (GA) will join the NAIA and the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. Andrew will remain a member of the NJCAA for the 2025-26 academic year.
Millikin University (IL) is adding a women's flag football team and will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year. Millikin is the third school from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) to add the sport.
2025-26 Flag Football Season Continues
The Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) saw its third week of action, with the highly anticipated matchup of two undefeated teams. It was Wallace State that emerged victorious in both matchups against Calhoun, winning by a combined margin of 110-13 across the two games. Wallace State sits alone atop the ACCC standings at 6-0, while Calhoun and Snead State are both 4-2.
Shelton State also won its two matchups, posting shutouts in both games to improve to 3-2 overall. Calhoun and Snead State will play a midweek doubleheader this week and more games will be played across the ACCC on Sunday, October 5.
The first round of the Carolina Crown Showdown took place over the weekend. Clemson (SC) and Virginia both went 2-0, North Carolina State won a game and tied another, North Carolina Central lost a game and tied with NC State, and Duke (NC) went 0-2. The second week of the Carolina Crown Showdown will be on Saturday, October 11, at North Carolina Central.
In other club competition news, Delaware won its first game by defeating Neumann (PA) 33-0 on Friday, September 26. SUNY Cortland (NY) upended Albany (NY) 7-6 in its season opener on Saturday, September 27.
2025-26 Scheduling News
The 2025-26 National Collegiate Flag Football League (NCFFL) registration is open. The NCFFL will host games in both the fall and spring seasons, with schools having the option to compete in either season or both. The spring 2026 campaign will feature a 10-game season, with playoffs and a championship in 2026.
Relatedly, the NCFFL's Collegiate Flag Football Fall Classic will be held on Saturday, October 18, and Sunday, October 19, at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland. The Classic was previously scheduled for October 11 and October 12, but the NCFFL changed the dates. The NCFFL's November Cup will be hosted by Iona University in New Rochelle, New York, on Saturday, November 8, and Sunday, November 9. The NCFFL also posted dates for its spring tournaments and championships, which are as follows:
The first spring tournament will take place on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, at Howard Community College (MD) in Columbia, Maryland. The second spring tournament will take place two weeks later, on Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, at Lancaster Bible College (PA) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Finally, the NCFFL National Championships will be held on Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3, at the Capelli Sports Complex in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.
The NCFFL updated the membership for the 2025-26 academic year. Over 20 schools will participate during the 2025-26 academic year and the list of participating schools includes:

The IFFA has posted a survey for college teams regarding the College Flag Showdown for next season. Schools can let the IFFA know which days, how many total games, and the number of daily games they wish to play at the tournament. The 2026 College Flag Showdown is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, through Saturday, March 7.
The Southern Women's Collegiate Flag Football Alliance (SWCFFA) is looking for additional teams to participate during the 2025-26 academic year. The SWCFFA previously announced that five NCAA Division I club teams will compete.
The University of Florida will host its 37th Annual Swamp Bowl from Friday, October 24, through Sunday, October 26. College flag football teams will compete on Friday, October 24, and Saturday, October 25. High school teams will play on Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26. Interested college teams can sign up here, while high school teams can sign up here.
The University of Delaware's flag football team is looking for teams to participate in its tournament on Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26. Interested schools should contact the team via social media or send an email to Kayla Comizio (kaylacomizio@gmail.com).
The Women's Collegiate Flag Football League (WCFFL) is looking for additional teams to compete during the 2025-26 academic year. The WCFFL will have tournaments in the fall and spring. Those interested should contact Ms. Venisha Lee at wcflagfootball1@gmail.com.
One of the upcoming WCFFL tournaments will be held on Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5, at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. The tournament is still open and any schools looking to compete should contact Coach Venisha Lee at wcflagfootball1@gmail.com.
Coaching News
Caldwell University (NJ) has posted an opening for a part-time women's flag football head coach. Caldwell will add flag football beginning with the 2026-27 academic year.
Campbellsville University (KY) is seeking a part-time assistant flag football coach. The Tigers named Spencer McCown head coach in July 2025.
NEW THIS WEEK: Cedar Crest College (PA) flag football head coach Amanda Avvento is no longer in charge of the team, according to the school's staff directory, which shows the name as "To Be Announced."
NEW THIS WEEK: College of DuPage (IL) named Tyler White as the defensive coordinator and Kendrick Thomas as the offensive coordinator for the flag football team.
The College of Saint Benedict (MN) posted a job description for a women's flag football head coaching vacancy. The college has not officially announced the addition of flag football.
The College of Saint Mary (NE) will partner with Bechler Leadership in its search for a head coach. All questions and application materials (cover letter, resume, and 4 references) should be sent to search@bechlerleadership.com. Saint Mary will begin competition during the 2026-27 academic year.
NEW THIS WEEK: Lakeland University (WI) has posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Lakeland will begin competing during the 2025-26 academic year.
NEW THIS WEEK: Millikin University (IL) named Joan Catanese as the head coach for the newly established program. Catanese is also the tight ends coach and co-special teams coordinator for the men's football team. Millikin will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.
NEW THIS WEEK: Penn State Harrisburg (PA) named Ben Dupree as the new head coach of the flag football team. Dupree played collegiately at The Citadel and is replacing Drew Scales, who was previously announced as head coach in March 2025.
Penn State Schuylkill (PA) is seeking a part-time defensive coordinator. The Nittany Lions will compete in the NCAA Division III Atlantic East Conference in the 2025-26 academic year.
Point Park University (PA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Point Park will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.
NEW THIS WEEK: Post University (CT) named Alexandria Rheaume and Tim Agnell as assistant coaches for the 2026 spring season. Post will be competing for the first time in spring 2026.
Radford University (VA) has posted the job description for the women's flag football club team. Radford announced the addition of a club team beginning with the 2025-26 academic year in May.
NEW THIS WEEK: Ripon College (WI) named Evelyn Uribe as the school's first flag football head coach. Uribe was a former player for the Panama national team and has coached multiple flag football teams in Panama over the last decade.
Roxbury Community College (MA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Roxbury CC will begin competing in the spring of 2026.
Saginaw Valley State University (MI) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. SVSU will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.
Saint Joseph's University (PA) has posted an opening for the head coaching position of a women's flag football club team.
Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia, posted a job description for a flag football head coaching position. The school will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.
SUNY Old Westbury (NY) has posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Old Westbury is planning to have a varsity team by the start of the 2026 spring season.
Thomas University (GA) has an opening for its head coaching role after the departure of Chelsea Parmer earlier this month. The official posting can be found here.
NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Tampa (FL) has named Jason Smith as the next flag football head coach.
UW-Oshkosh (WI) has posted the job description and application for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. UW-Oshkosh is hoping to compete as soon as the 2026 spring season. The deadline to apply for the position is Tuesday, September 16.
Westminster College (MO) has posted a job description for a women's flag football head coaching position. Westminster will begin competing during the 2026-27 academic year.
Future Camps and Clinics

Florida Gateway College will host a flag football prospect camp on Saturday, October 4. The camp will take place at the school's football complex in Lake City, Florida, from 11 AM to 2 PM.
The University of Florida will host a youth flag football camp on Sunday, October 5. The camp will take place from 9 AM to 12 PM on campus at the Southwest Recreation Complex in Gainesville, Florida.
The Cincinnati Bengals will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Sunday, October 12. The location will be determined at a later date. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, September 15.
Keiser University (FL) will host a pair of girls flag football clinics in October and November. The first will take place on Sunday, October 12, while the second will take place on Sunday, November 9. Both clinics will run from 9 AM to 11 AM and be held at the KU multi-purpose field.
Marymount University (VA) will host a prospect camp on Saturday, October 12. The camp will take place from 1 to 4 PM on campus in Arlington, Virginia.
The Buffalo Bills will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Saturday, October 18. The tournament will be held at Sahlen's Sports Park in Elma, New York. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, September 22.
The Tennessee Titans will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Saturday, October 18. The tournament will be held at Centennial High School in Franklin, Tennessee. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, September 22.
The University of Mount Olive (NC) will host a flag football prospect camp on Saturday, October 18, from 1 PM to 4 PM. The camp is open to high schoolers in grades 9 through 12, and will be held on campus in Mount Olive, North Carolina.
College of DuPage (IL) is hosting a recruit event for the class of 2026 on Sunday, October 19, from 10 AM to 12 PM. The event will allow recruits to meet coaches, view practice, tour the campus, and participate in a Q&A session. Those interested can fill out the Google Form here.
USA Football is hosting a Talent ID Camp in association with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, October 19. The camp will be held at the Under Armour Campus in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Chicago Bears will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Saturday, October 25. The tournament will be held at Clarence Hicks Sports Complex in Rockford, Illinois. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, September 29.
NEW THIS WEEK: Slippery Rock University (PA) will host a flag football showcase and tournament on Saturday, October 25. The talent ID camp and showcase will take place from 10 AM to 2 PM and is for girls in grades 8 through 12. The women's 5 v 5 flag football tournament is open only to adults and will take place from 3 to 7:30 PM. Both events will be held at the McFarland Recreation Sports Complex on campus.
The Las Vegas Raiders will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Sunday, October 26. The tournament will be held at Heritage Park in Henderson, Nevada. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, September 29.
The New York Jets will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Sunday, October 26. The tournament will be held at Anzaldi Park in Clifton, New Jersey. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, September 29.
The Indianapolis Colts will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Saturday, November 1. The tournament will be held at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, October 6.
The New Orleans Saints will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Saturday, November 1. The tournament will be held at the Shrine/Saints Facility in Metairie, Louisiana. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, October 6.
The Washington Commanders will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Saturday, November 1. The tournament will be held at the Fields at RFK in Washington, DC. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, October 6.
USA Football is hosting a Talent ID Camp in association with the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, November 8. The camp will be held at the Chiefs Indoor Facility in Kansas City, Missouri.
The New England Patriots will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Saturday, November 8. The tournament will be held at Forkicks Taunton in Taunton, Massachusetts. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, October 13.
The Dallas Cowboys will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Sunday, November 9. The tournament will be held at the Cowboys' practice facility (The Star) in Frisco, Texas. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, October 13.
USA Football is hosting a Talent ID Camp in association with the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, November 23. The camp will be held at Campo Verde High School in Gilbert, Arizona.
The Los Angeles Chargers will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Sunday, November 23. The tournament will be held at Great Park in Irvine, California. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, October 27.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Sunday, November 23. The tournament will be held at the SouthShore Complex in Apollo Beach, Florida. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, October 27.
Daytona State College (FL) will host a skills and ID camp on Saturday, December 6, in Daytona Beach, Florida. The camp will take place from 10 AM to 1 PM on campus.
The Houston Texans will host an NFL Flag Regional Tournament on Saturday, December 6. The tournament will be held at Farm League Park in Spring, Texas. Registration for the tournament ends on Monday, November 10.
Norco College (CA) will host a showcase camp on Saturday, December 6, from 11 AM to 2 PM. The camp will be attended by Arizona Christian (AZ), Aurora (IL), Benedictine Mesa (AZ), Golden West (CA), Hope International (CA), Irvine Valley College (CA), La Sierra (CA), Ottawa (AZ), Purdue Northwest (IN), Santiago Canyon College (CA), and Simpson (CA).
Ottawa University (AZ) will host a flag football recruit day on Saturday, December 6, from 9 AM to 3 PM. The experience will allow recruits to meet coaches, tour the campus, and participate in a few drills.
Warner University (FL) will host a showcase camp on Saturday, December 6, in Lake Wales, Florida. The camp will take place from 9:30 AM to 3 PM and is open to players graduating between 2026 and 2029. Coaches from LaGrange College (GA), St. Thomas University (FL), and Wingate (NC) will be in attendance.
USA Football is hosting a Talent ID Camp in association with the Houston Texans on Sunday, December 7. The camp will be held at Farm League Park in Spring, Texas.
Whittier College (CA) will host a showcase camp on Sunday, December 7, in Whittier, California. The camp will take place from 9:30 AM to 3 PM and is open to players graduating between 2026 and 2029. Coaches from Arizona Christian University, Golden West College (CA), and La Sierra University (CA) will be in attendance.
There will be a showcase camp at Locust Grove High School (GA) on Sunday, December 14, in Locust Grove, Georgia. The camp will take place from 9:30 AM to 3 PM and is open to players graduating between 2026 and 2029. Coaches from Chowan University (NC), LaGrange College (GA), Meredith College (NC), Reinhardt University (GA), and Wingate (NC) will be in attendance.
USA Flag will host the 2026 World Championships from Wednesday, January 14, through Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Tampa, Florida. The deadline to secure a spot is Friday, October 10. Teams can still register between October 11 and December 5, but will be placed on a waiting list.
Villa Maria College (NY) will have a women's flag football camp & showcase on Saturday, February 14, 2026, which will feature US Women's National Team member Izzy Geraci. The camp will take place from 12 PM to 2:30 PM at Villa Maria's athletic center in Buffalo, New York.
Howard Community College (MD) will host a spring flag football league in the Spring of 2026. Games will be played each Sunday, starting March 22, 2026, and the league will conclude on June 14, 2026.
There will be a high school and college recruiting combine at Capelli Sports Complex in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, on Saturday, May 3, 2026. The combine will be held on the same day as the NCFFL's National Championship.
Millersville University (PA) will host its 2nd annual girls flag football camp from Wednesday, June 24, through Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Great Britain, Italy Capture European Golds
The IFAF European Flag Football Championships took place last week, with Great Britain and Italy capturing the gold medals. The Great Britain women's team needed overtime to defeat Austria 34-33 to secure a second straight European Gold medal. In the Bronze Medal game, Spain defeated France by one point, 41-40. On the men's side, Italy defeated Austria 27-19 for the gold medal, while France won 34-20 against Great Britain to finish third.
Maryland Flag Football Continues to Grow
Flag football continues to show progress towards becoming a sanctioned sport. A recent article in The Baltimore Sun (possible paywall) highlights the growth from 300 athletes participating in the 2023-24 school year to more than 1,200 participants across 52 high schools in 2024-25. At least 40% of the 200 Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) need to have a varsity team before a recommendation can be made to sponsor a state championship.
At the collegiate level, six Maryland schools offer flag football, including NCAA Division I members Mount St. Mary's University (varsity) and the University of Maryland (club). Bowie State University offers a club program as part of the NCAA Division II CIAA, while Washington Adventist University will begin varsity play in the NAIA during the 2025-26 academic year. Two NJCAA members also offer flag football: Harford Community College and Howard Community College.
More on Millsaps Adding Flag Football
Millsaps College (MS) announced the addition of flag football earlier this month and The Clarion-Ledger caught up with the school's athletic director, Justin LeBlanc, to learn more about the decision. LeBlanc cited Mississippi's decision to make flag football a sanctioned sport at the high school level as one of the main reasons for adding flag football. LeBlanc also noted that the school wanted to provide more opportunities for women.
Millsaps will be playing as a club team in the spring of 2026 and is in the process of hiring a coach. The coaching announcement is expected "in the next month or so," according to LeBlanc. The first player to join the roster is current women's basketball player Elyse Warren.
Norco College Prepares for 2025-26 Campaign
Norco College (CA) is getting ready to compete in its second season of flag football. The school is planning to take on in-state opponents Cal Lutheran, La Sierra, and Redlands. In what is billed as the "Battle of the District," Norco will face Moreno Valley College on Wednesday, November 19.
