1 Addition This Week, 2 Updates
Pasco-Hernando State College (FL) is unlikely to field a women's flag football team for the 2027 spring season.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (IN) will add a varsity women's flag football team beginning with the 2027-28 academic year. SMWC is the second school from the NAIA's River States Conference to add a flag football program.
Wiley University (TX) will compete as a club team for the 2026-27 academic year and elevate the team to varsity status beginning with the 2027-28 academic year.

Albright College (PA) posted the job description for an assistant women's flag football coaching position. Albright named Eric Martin as head coach in September 2025, and the team will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.
Alverno University (WI) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Alverno will begin competing in the 2027-28 academic year.
Arizona Christian University is seeking a defensive coordinator for the 2026-27 academic year. Those interested should submit a resume, cover letter, and any relevant coaching materials to head coach Michael Maccagnano at michael.maccagnano@arizonachristian.edu.
Bethany College (WV) is seeking a graduate assistant for the 2026-27 academic year. Those interested should provide a resume, cover letter, and the names and contact information of three professional references to Anna Taylor at artaylor@bethanywv.edu with the subject line “Graduate Assistant for Flag Football.”
Binghamton University (NY) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Binghamton will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.

The Guimond Vukovic Group (GVG) is offering postgraduate opportunities for athletes seeking a one-year master's degree in the United Kingdom. Scholarship opportunities are available for students with a GPA of 2.8 or higher. Athletes who wish to continue playing collegiate flag football, develop programs, build the sport internationally, or pursue coaching opportunities are encouraged to apply. GVG offers a free service to connect student-athletes with partner institutions in the U.K. The FAQ section on GVG's website provides additional information. This postgraduate opportunity is in the United Kingdom.

Hawaii Pacific University posted a job description for an assistant coaching position on the women's flag football team.
Howard Payne University (TX) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. HPU is scheduled to launch its program in the 2026-27 academic year.

Marywood University (PA) posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Marywood played its first season in spring 2026, going 0-16 overall.
Meredith College (NC) is seeking volunteer assistants for the 2026-27 academic year. Those interested should contact head coach Bryonne Herring at baherring@meredith.edu. Meredith will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.
Messiah University (PA) posted the job description for a women's flag football head coach. Messiah will begin competing in the 2027-28 academic year.
NEW THIS WEEK: Mississippi Valley State University posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. MVSU previously announced it would launch in the 2026-27 academic year.
Montgomery County Community College (PA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Montco has not officially announced the addition of a varsity women's flag football program.
Moorpark College (CA) posted a job description for a women's flag football head coach position. Moorpark announced a new program at the end of June.
North Greenville University (SC) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. North Greenville will begin competing in the 2027-28 academic year.

Purdue University Northwest (IN) is seeking a flag football graduate assistant for the 2026-27 academic year. Those interested should contact head coach Micah Lowe at lowe169@pnw.edu.
NEW THIS WEEK: Roxbury Community College (MA) posted the job description for a women's flag football assistant coaching position.
Saddleback College (CA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching vacancy. Rick Brail was the head coach for the past two seasons.
Saginaw Valley State University (MI) posted the job description for a women's flag football graduate assistant position. SVSU will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.
Saint Joseph's College of Maine posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. SJC will begin competing in the 2027-28 academic year.
NEW THIS WEEK: San Bernardino Community College District (CA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. The position will be for either San Bernardino Valley College or Crafton Hills College. Neither school has officially announced the launch of a flag football program.
NEW THIS WEEK: Saint Leo University (FL) named Steven Searles as the head coach of the women's flag football club team. Searles was most recently the head coach at Anclote High School in Holiday, Florida, where he helped launch the varsity program. Searles will replace Eli Taliafero, who resigned in May.
Shaw University (NC) posted the job description for a women's flag football assistant coaching position. Shaw will add women's flag football beginning with the 2026-27 academic year.
NEW THIS WEEK: Simpson University (CA) is seeking women's flag football assistant coaches for the upcoming 2026-27 academic year. Those interested should contact head coach Jose Sanchez at jsanchez@simpsonu.edu.
NEW THIS WEEK: St. Thomas University (FL) named Nick Clements as the women's flag football program's next head coach. Clements previously coached at Fort Pierce Central High School in Florida. Clements will take over for Derek Duque, who coached STU for the 2026 spring season. The Bobcats went 11-7 overall and reached the NAIA Invitational.
SUNY Cortland (NY) is seeking volunteer coaches for its club team during the 2026-27 academic year. Those interested should reach out to them via social media or contact Kathryn Brennan at kathryn.brennan@cortland.edu.
NEW THIS WEEK: Texas A&M University-Texarkana posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching position. The job will also include coaching the wide receivers on the men's team. Texarkana hasn't officially announced the launch of a women's flag football program.
Tiffin University (OH) posted the job description for a women's flag football club team head coaching position. Tiffin has not officially announced a flag football program. The school also has posted a description for the men's flag football club team opening.
United States Sports University (AL) posted the job description for a women's flag football head coaching vacancy. USSU hasn't officially announced a flag football program.
NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Bridgeport (CT) named Travis Newton as an assistant coach for the 2026-27 academic year. Newton was most recently the head coach of the women's flag football club team at the University of Connecticut.
NEW THIS WEEK: The University of Connecticut women's flag football club team head coach Travis Newton is leaving to become an assistant coach at the University of Bridgeport for the 2026-27 academic year.
The University of Mount Olive (NC) is seeking a graduate assistant for the 2026-27 academic year. Those interested should submit an application, resume, and a minimum of three references to head coach Derrick Lucas at dlucas@umo.edu.
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Director of Operations for the women's flag football program. Nebraska is planning to play its first varsity season in the 2027-28 academic year.
The University of Nevada is seeking a volunteer head coach for its women's flag football program. Those interested should reach out to the team via social media or email Jordan Katz at jordankatz@unr.edu. Nevada will compete as a club team beginning with the 2026-27 academic year.
The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking volunteer coaches for the 2026-27 academic year. UNC Greensboro will have a club team.
The University of North Texas at Dallas posted a job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. UNT Dallas will begin competing in the 2026-27 academic year.
University of Redlands (CA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Tatum Etchegoyen-Springer previously led Redlands to a 15-14 overall record in the last two seasons.
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is seeking an assistant flag football coach for the 2026-27 academic year. Those interested should contact head coach Deante Jefferson at jeffersond@uwosh.edu.
Westfield State University (MA) posted the job description for the women's flag football head coaching position. Westfield State will launch a club team for the 2026-27 academic year and transition the team to varsity status in 2027-28.
William Penn University (IA) is seeking a graduate assistant for the 2026-27 academic year. Those interested should reach out to head coach Lamaar Thomas at lamaar.thomas@wmpenn.edu.
William Woods University (MO) is seeking a graduate assistant for the 2026-27 academic year.
Chowan Head Coach Sherry Lewis Featured on Athletics Website
Sherry Lewis, women's flag football head coach at Chowan University (NC), was featured on the school's athletic website last week. Lewis will pull double duty as head coach for cross country and the women's flag football team. She is a graduate of Chowan and spoke about how she ended up back at the school, her experience as an athlete during an inaugural season, and the opportunity to lead the school in a growing sport.
Middle Atlantic Sets First Championship Date
The NCAA Division III Middle Atlantic Conference has already set the date for its inaugural women's flag football championship. The MAC will determine its champion on Saturday, April 24, with the top-seeded team hosting all three games. The MAC announced the addition of women's flag football last week. Albright College (PA), Eastern University (PA), Marywood University (PA), and Neumann University (PA) will compete in the first season.
NFL FLAG Championships and Updates
The 2026 NFL FLAG Championships will take place this weekend in Westfield, Indiana. The games will be played from Thursday, July 23, through Sunday, July 26. ESPN will broadcast games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, NFL Network, Disney Channel, and Disney XD. ESPN will show the games from the boys U14, boys U15, girls U15, girls High School, and international divisions.
The Green Bay Packers provided 12 Equip Sport stations with free flag football equipment in public parks throughout Munich, Germany. The NFL will host a regular season game in Munich for the fifth consecutive year when the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions match up on Sunday, November 15.
The Indianapolis Colts provided another update on their "Road to 100" initiative. A week after announcing that 88 high schools across Indiana had signed up, the Colts added another five schools in mid-July. The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) requires at least 100 schools to offer a sport before it can be considered for sanctioning. The Colts will continue to offer $10,000 for new high school flag football programs, along with free training for flag football officials.
SCAC Extends FloSports Rights
The NCAA Division III Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced an extension of its media rights deal with FloSports. The agreement now lasts through the 2030-31 academic year. The SCAC will begin sponsoring women's flag football in the 2026-27 academic year, and those games are expected to be broadcast on FloSports.
Texas High School Flag Football Update
The University Interscholastic League (UIL), the governing body of high school athletics in Texas, has requested a survey of superintendents to receive additional feedback on girls flag football. The survey will include a sample proposal for how girls flag football would be legislated statewide. The UIL continued its dialogue on flag football at its June 2026 meeting, but no vote was conducted or expected at that time. The UIL will meet again in October.
Warner Flag Football Documentary
Jordan Smith followed six Warner University (FL) flag football athletes during the 2026 spring season in a recently posted documentary. The documentary allowed Adriana Brustmeyer, Ana Murillo, Ana Vincensini, Andrea Castillo, Angeline Bunting, and Marian Torrero Abrego the opportunity to speak about their journeys from Panama to Warner before the season started. Smith caught up with all six athletes later in the season, with each providing a message about their season. Warner went on to win the 2026 NAIA National Invitational over Keiser University (FL), 13-6. The full documentary can be found on YouTube.
World Flag Series Teams and Coaches Announced
World Flag Series announced the three teams and rosters that will compete at WFS1 on Saturday, July 25. The three team names are Glitter Bombs, H.E.R. (Hustle Every Rep), and Ice Queens. The full rosters can be found here. 14 different countries will be represented by athletes at WFS1, which will take place at Suncoast Credit Union Stadium in Tampa, Florida. WFS1 is scheduled to start at 6 PM Eastern Time.
WFS also announced the coaches for each team. Jeremy Andrews will serve as head coach of the Glitter Bombs and will be assisted by Brodie Alcocer. H.E.R. will be led by Alann Salas as head coach and Lori Locust as assistant coach. US National Team coach Anthony Hernandez will serve as the head coach of the Ice Queens and will be helped by Tomek Nowak.
Future Flag Football Camps and Clinics

The camps and clinics are listed in chronological order, from earliest to latest date. The listed times are specific to that school's time zone.
Florida Gateway College will host a flag football camp from Monday, July 20, through Thursday, July 23. The camp will be held daily from 8 to 11:30 AM and is open to athletes ages 7 to 14.
Olivet Nazarene University (IL) will host a flag football camp from Monday, July 20, through Wednesday, July 22. Coed camps will run from 4 to 4:50 PM and 5 to 5:50 PM daily for athletes in grades 5 through 8. A girls-only high school camp will run from 6:30 to 8 PM daily. The camps will be held at Kelly Park in Orland Hills, Illinois. Those interested can register here.

Wittenberg University (OH) will host an Inside the Division III Athletic Experience Day on Monday, July 20, from 10 AM to 2 PM. The experience day will be held at the Health, Wellness & Athletics Complex in Springfield, Ohio.
NEW THIS WEEK: Marymount University (VA) will host a coed flag football camp from Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24. The camp will be held daily from 9 AM to 3 PM, with the option for an extended camp day. The camp is open to boys in grades 1 through 6 and girls in grades 1 through 10. The camp will be held on campus in Arlington, Virginia.
NEW THIS WEEK: Janae Scott (CO) will host a free girls flag football workout on Thursday, July 23, from 6 to 8 PM. The workout is open to athletes in high school and college transfers. The workout will be held at Lowry Sports Park in Denver, Colorado. Scott is the head coach at McPherson College (KS).

Mercyhurst University (PA) will host a women's flag football prospect camp on Saturday, July 25, from 1 to 4 PM. The camp is open to incoming high school freshmen through seniors and will be held on campus at Saxon Stadium in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Northwestern University (IL) will host a girls flag football camp from Tuesday, July 28, through Friday, July 31. The camp will be held daily from 4 to 8 PM and is open to athletes in the 9th grade through college freshmen. The camp will be held on campus at Martin Stadium in Evanston, Illinois.
Winston-Salem State University (NC) will host a women's flag football 7-on-7 camp on Tuesday, July 28, from 9 AM to 3 PM. The camp is open to high school teams in the 9th through 12th grade, with a maximum of 20 players per team. The camp will be held at Civitan Park in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
BLTS and P2P (KY) will host a girls flag football 7v7 Tournament and Showcase from Thursday, July 30, through Saturday, August 1. The event is invite-only, open to graduates from 2026 through 2030, and will be presented by the IFFA. Both the tournament and showcase will take place at Waggener High School in Louisville, Kentucky.

East Texas Baptist University will host a 2027 Group Visit Day on Friday, July 31, with check-in starting at 1 PM. Phillips is the head coach at Roxbury Community College (MA), and the showcase will be attended by Dean College (MA) and Post University (CT). The showcase will take place in Central Falls, Rhode Island.
The University of Michigan will host a girls flag football summer camp on Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30, from 1 to 6 PM. The camp is open to athletes ages 11 through 18 and will be held at Hubbard Field in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Elmira College (NY) will host a flag football prospect day on Sunday, September 13, from 10 AM to 3 PM. The camp is open to 9th through 12th graders and will be held on campus at the football field in Elmira, New York.
Lawrence University (WI) will host a women's flag football visit day on Saturday, September 19. Lawrence will spend the 2026-27 academic year recruiting, followed by competition in 2027-28.

Norco College (CA) will host the Real Ones Only Girls Flag Football Showcase Camp on Saturday, December 5. The camp will take place from 9 AM to 2 PM on campus in Norco, California. Arizona Christian University, Benedictine University Mesa (AZ), Hope International University (CA), La Sierra University (CA), Nevada State University, Our Lady of the Lake University (TX), Purdue University Northwest (IN), Simpson University (CA), and Westcliff University (CA) are slated to be in attendance.
The International Flag League (formerly USA Flag) will host its 2027 National Championships in Tampa, Florida, on MLK weekend in January 2027. The dates are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, January 13, 2027, through Sunday, January 17, 2027.
The International Flag League (formerly USA Flag) will host its 2027 World Championships in Los Angeles, California, from Thursday, July 8, 2027, through Sunday, July 11, 2027. A collegiate division will be competing for the first time at the 2027 championships.
